Jono Whitney inspired Shifnal to a three-wicket win at Birmingham League title contenders Knowle & Dorridge. Guy Bulpitt took 4-25 as Knowle and Dorridge were bowled out for 225. But, fresh from his match-winning midweek knock for Shropshire, Whitney maintained his form, hitting 72 to steer his side to victory on 228-7. In Division One, Wellington slipped into the bottom two as their poor run of results continued with a six-wicket defeat at Dorridge. Former Wellington skipper Gavin Byram hit 110 as his team piled up 262-8. But Dorridge had a centurion of their own, David Bell, who hit an unbeaten 108, finishing with a six as the home side got there on 267-4. Ed Foster top-scored with 68 at Harborne as Shrewsbury posted 179. And that proved a winning score when Reece O'Connell (4-75) helped bowl out their hosts for 147 to earn the visitors a 24-point maximum. In Division Two, Mike Holliday (73) and Ed Keenan (41 not out) helped Newport to 189-5 against Smethwick. But it was not enough as Imran Youssaf (63) led Smethwick to a five-wicket win. St Georges successfully chased 170 to win at home to Ombersley as they got home for a two-wicket win. In Division Three, Oswestry recorded only their second win of the season against Studley at Morda Road, despite only posting 144-9. Studley were then skittled in reply for 115, Ian Davies (4-35) proving the main destroyer. Whitchurch cruised to a six-wicket victory thanks to Maisam Hasnain who followed last week's 197 with an unbeaten 100 against Brockhampton. That helped his side chase the 181 needed for the win which moved Whitchurch into third place. Rain interrupted the game between Coleshill and Bridgnorth, who missed out on a winning draw by two runs. Chasing 212-8, despite Bridgnorth duo Peter Thompson (68 not out) and Paras Dogra (63) both getting among the runs, it was not enough to reach the winning draw target.
