Wem overtook Bomere Heath in the Shropshire Premier League on Saturday as they successfully chased down a total of 151 and won by one wicket. In the first innings, Bomere's Hafiz Khalid Mahmood (46) was the main contributor in a low-scoring game. In reply, Will Savage led Wem to victory with a top score of 42, despite fine bowling by Hafiz Khalid Mahmood who finished with figures of 5-40. Albrighton maintained their pursuit of league leaders Reman Services by beating Welshpool by six wickets. Welshpool were restricted to 142-9, with Joe Birch (41) the main run scorer. Albrighton had Matthew Wright to thank with an impressive 49 to help his side to maximum points. Top-of-the-table Reman Services maintained their unbeaten run after notching up 161-7, they bowled Madeley out for 116. Wendell Wagner took five wickets. Ludlow were all out for 199 from their 50 overs against Broseley. In reply Ali Raza (5-37) led the way with the ball leaving Broseley struggling at 152-8 giving them a losing draw. Much Wenlock's Matt Tipper (80) helped his side to 238-6 against Newtown. The visitors reached 165-8 after Duncan May took five wickets for Wenlock giving them a much-needed winning draw. In a low-scoring game Quatt could only muster 111-9 after Andy Wiggington took four wickets for Shelton. In reply, Shelton held on for a losing draw reaching 100-9. Rhett Williamson scored nearly half the runs with 48 and Barry Jones (5-14) nearly gave Shelton an unlikely victory.
