Finding consistency has been the problem for Dechy since she became professional in 1994.

She has yet to win a WTA singles title, but reached the semi-final at Scottsdale this year.

The Frenchwoman did pick up a doubles title this year in Paris and is almost certain to feature in the latter stages of the doubles tournament at Wimbledon.

Dechy is a strong player from the back of the court and she readily admits she is happier on harder surfaces.
