Fay, Katie & Kathy

Fay is a local girl, and apart from a brief stint living in Kent and Essex, has been Bournemouth based all her life.

Age: 77

Fay fell in love with ice-skating at 10 years old and spent all her time at Bournemouth’s ice rink. At 15 she left school to become a full time ice-skater in Bournemouth’s famous ice shows. She then spent time on the road travelling around Europe with various ice shows until she eventually hung up her skates at 24.

Fay has two children, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She now resides on Sandbanks and spends her time lunching and shopping with best pals Kathy and Katie. She’s known the girls for over 40 years combined.

Katie is the life and soul of the party. She has a huge personality, an infectious giggle and a potty mouth.

Age: 76

Born in Epsom in Surrey, Katie left school at 12 as she was struck down by tuberculosis. She began her working life in the promotions department at Harrods.

She married at 23 and had two children, Alyson and Adrian. She moved down to Bournemouth at 40, and met best friend Fay whilst working at Debenhams on the perfume counter.

Katie is a straight talker and is never afraid to speak her mind.

Born and bred in Bournemouth, Kathy has lived by the sea all her life. She was married at 16, has 5 children and now has 14 grandchildren.

Age: 72

Kathy spent the majority of her working life at ASDA head office in Bournemouth. There she worked her way up from receptionist to health and safety officer. She spent nearly 30 years working for the supermarket and only retired last year at 71.

Kathy can usually be found with best pals Fay and Katie at their local Conservative club. Kathy has known Fay for over 30 years. She is the matriarch and peacemaker of the group.
