Babs

Born into a large Catholic Irish family, Babs left Dublin at 16 and came to England and soon settled in Bournemouth. Not content with life by the seaside, Babs hitchhiked all the way to Switzerland where she worked as a DJ. She then returned to Bournemouth but soon got itchy feet and headed to Toronto where she worked as a nanny. A man eventually persuaded her to return to Bournemouth, and she married David – and she has been happily married ever since.

Babs is a go-getting, social organiser of the Bournemouth OAP scene. At the centre of everything and with a finger in every pie, Babs is one of Bournemouth’s best networkers – and recently won a local business award for her dedicated networking!

Babs has known Chris for almost 30 years – their daughters were at the same school. They’ve always had a tumultuous relationship – and fell out for a year over a spat on Facebook a few years ago. She met Simon through her local health club and Gloria has been a firm friend for 15 years when she bought a property from Babs.

Life really has begun for Babs at 65, and it’s full of drama.
