Profile: Adam Thornton

Adam's film Vélo explores the simplicity and discipline of riding a fixed-wheel or "fixie" bike.

Why did you pick this subject for Fresh?

I have learnt to be persistent with what I am creating

I picked this subject to inform the UK on fixed-gear cycling, show them its simplistic nature, encourage people to try it and express themselves.

What motivated you to make this film?

My passion for fixed gear cycling and the thought that all hobbies allow you to be free and expressive.

What equipment did you use to shoot the film?

It was shot on a Canon 7D & 60D. I completed post-production by myself on a MacBook Pro using Adobe Premiere CS6. I graded the film using Magic Bullet.

Who/what inspires you?

My love for sports and the athletes that are so dedicated to them.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans are to graduate from Staffordshire University and look for a job as a runner for the TV industry.

What is the most important thing you have learned so far?

I have learnt to be persistent with what I am creating, to not stop until I know I did everything I could to make a project what it is.
