Radio 1 DJs reveal their ultimate TV binges of 2016

For all the stressful things that happened in 2016, it has been a fantastic year for television.
From US dramas to homegrown productions (we believe one or two people enjoyed the BBC's Planet Earth II), we've been glued to our screens this year. Well done the TV.
But what did the DJs from Radio 1 rate as the best TV of the year? Here's what they picked as their 2016 highlights.
Greg James
"Planet Earth II. I think it's the greatest I’ve ever seen on the television and maybe the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on film. It's unbelievably brilliant and there are not many things that surprise us as a world any more, everyone's seen it all.
"'So what, a pop star’s got naked - seen it', but with this I’m genuinely surprised every week. I can't believe they're filming that. How did they film that? There's nothing better than it. They manage to do something better every week."

"So many! I loved Stranger Things but recently there's a show called Insecure, which I love. It's a series starring this woman called Issa Rae, she's a hilarious comedy writer and she's basically the black Tina Fey. She's like the black female Larry David. She used to have a show called Awkward Black Girl, which I loved because I am an awkward black girl. I binge watched it.
"I loved Stranger Things as well. I thought the cast we so cute and I was gutted I missed them when they came in. The soundtrack is great too. I also like The Get Down too, there's been a lot of great telly this year. A good boxset year."
Here's what Clara missed
Scott Mills
"I liked The Missing because I think we're so spoiled now in this country, because we've got so many million dollar episode US dramas.
"So to have something that's British and look that expensive, glossy and good, up against all the American show, that's really good."
Nick Grimshaw
"Planet Earth II. I love David Attenborough's voice. When I first started on breakfast I’d watch his shows all the time before I went to bed because it's so calm and you could fall asleep to it. There's something really nostalgic about it. I loved that Planet Earth was on a Sunday night, which is perfect when you've got to be up at 5 the next morning.
"I loved the sloths, the sloth mating call sounds a lot like a noise Fi-Fi, my producer, make so we tortured her with that and I really liked the city episode because it was a new angle."

"For a show that everyone got into, Making A Murderer was crazily good and a new kind of TV show in the way that people were talking about it."

"I think there’s been loads of fantastic TV this year but the show I’ve been most excited about is Stranger Things. I tried to save the episodes so I didn’t finish it too quickly but it was too good! It’s so box set bingeworthy!"
