Radio 1 DJs reveal their favourite albums of 2016

When the Radio 1 DJs are on air, they stick to the playlist, but what albums have they had on their headphones in 2016?
Find out what Clara, Greg, Scott and Chris have picked as their favourite albums of the year.
Scott Mills

"I listened to the Two Door Cinema Club album a lot. I just think they are a fun act and I like what their new stuff is.
"It sounds really good on the radio and they've got a big history with Radio 1."
Clara Amfo

"I loved the Solange record, A Seat At The Table. It just really spoke to me. Listening to her I felt like I was listening to myself. Politically what she speaks about, as a black woman it spoke to me. But then I loved her sisters record, I loved Beyonce's Lemonade.
"There's been so many great records this year. Annie's record of the year list has been pretty much my list to be honest. The Francis & The Lights album is beautiful. I really like the Adele record."
Nick Grimshaw

"Kanye West, The Life Of Pablo. I feel like Kanye's album is my most listened to album of the year. He is always innovative and exciting. He always pushes the boundaries sonically and visually. It has been a really good soundtrack to the year; I’ve been on a few holidays where we've listened to it.
"I loved that he did that screening from his iPhone in Madison Square Garden and they showed it in cinemas all around the world. I loved that idea; I thought it was the coolest idea. I went to the cinema with Annie Mac to watch it and I loved the ego of renting Madison Square Gardens and playing tunes off your laptop and broadcasting it around the world."
Greg James

"22, A Million by Bon Iver is my favourite album of the year, for sure. Them as a band, but Justin Vernon in particular, just manage to cut through all the noise that everyone else is making and just makes the album he wants to make.
"No one else sounds like Bon Iver in this era and I think that's very difficult to do and very brave to do because it's not going to sell 20 million copies like an Adele album but he's doing what he wants to do and he's got his fanbase. It's still incredibly popular, got to No.2 in the album chart. It's critically acclaimed and it's also quite mainstream."
Chris Stark

"I think that's a hard question this year because no matter how good it is to hear an album, it now has less importance. I find EPs are really good and really strong. New artists are putting out four or five songs and they have more impact than full albums.
"But saying that, The 1975 is a great album with a really good title, i like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it."
Adele Roberts

"I loved Kano’s ‘Made In The Manor’ so good to have him back. I think 3 Wheels Ups is one of my favourite songs this year. Kaytranada’s 99.9% is a stunning album, the production is ridiculously good.
I also thought Beyonce’s Lemonade was excellent from concept to writing, production, and delivery. She’s re-written the rules on what an album can be."
