Zara Larsson: My dad gave me noodles for Christmas

Zara Larsson has had a huge 2016 and not surprisingly she's looking forward to Christmas as much as the rest of us. There is, however, a good chance, she'll spend most of it in bed.

"Usually I don't move out of bed at all, I would absolutely take sleep over food," she told Radio 1 when she visited us to talk Christmas at the end of November.

"I wouldn't even get up to eat. I am done; I am lying in my bed watching TV."

She'll miss out if she doesn't get up, because she LOVES Christmas and all the family activities and arguments that come with it. How do we know this? Well, she told us!

What happens on Christmas day in the Larsson house?

We really just chill. I think that's the whole things with Christmas. We wake up, maybe have a present in a stocking and then we have some breakfast.

Actually, a very Swedish thing is to watch Donald Duck. At 3pm, every Christmas, everyone watches it. It's like a little mini-film. It's on for about an hour and it's all Disney characters wish you a merry Christmas and that's really a tradition.

After that we open presents, have some Christmas dinner and then we just talk for the rest of the evening.

Is your family likely to fight at Christmas?

Silly fights break out every day in my family but no more than usual at Christmas. We argue and debate over everything. We're a very vocal and opinionated family.

It's usually about big important things. It turns into a discussion, everybody's involved, it's passionate but it's nice. I love that about my family.

What is top of your list for Christmas this year?

Honestly, I don't have a physical present that I want. I would just like to spend it with my family. We're hopefully going someplace warm where I can have a vacation and breathe a little. That would be really nice.

Honestly, what are my parents or family meant to buy me that I can't buy for myself? The older you get, the less of that you care about. I just want to spend time with my family.

Is there a Christmas movie you watch every year?

I always watch Home Alone, for some reason. It's always on at Christmas so we always watch that. Die Hard is always on the night before Christmas. Of course, Love Actually and movies like that. Those are the ones I always look forward to.

Which are your favourite Christmas songs?

Probably Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You. That's just a classic, yeah. I would love to record a Christmas song, if it's good enough. Ariana Grande has a great Christmas album. I love that one.

Have you ever been given a really bad present?

My dad gave me noodles. He said "But you love noodles". I was like, thanks. We're really bad at giving each other Christmas gifts, so that was the only thing I got from him that Christmas.

I was just like, "You spend £1 on my Christmas present and it's five packs of noodles. Are you kidding me?" He was dead serious.

Merry Christmas, Zara Larsson!
