What are the Radio 1 DJs' New Year's Resolutions?

New Year's Resolutions don't usually come to much but maybe, just maybe, this year will be different.

Perhaps we will get to the gym more, perhaps we will take up that new hobby, perhaps we will start going to bed a little earlier.

Or maybe everything will just stay the same - and that's fine too.

We asked the Radio 1 DJs how they would be trying to change in 2017. This is what they had to say.

Greg James

"I need to put my phone down and step away. I don't think I’m bad, I just think you can get into bad habits and I want to get out of those habits. I love being on social media and I love creating stuff but I don't want it to be the first thing I do in the morning and at the moment it is, so if I can get out of this habit then I’ll be fine.

"It's an amazing tool, you should never be afraid of it, but checking Twitter before I have a wee is bad."

Scott Mills

"I want to go to bed earlier. I'm really bad at it. I'm not doing anything but somehow hours just go by."

Clara Amfo

"To be more present. Just be in the moment more. I'm as guilty as the next person of being at a gig and having my phone out but I don't video the whole thing. I'll the verse and a chorus but then I’ll put my phone away. I'm never one of those people who are filming constantly. It does my nut in.

"I'm also going to treat myself better. I'm going to eat better food and just be kinder to myself and to others."

Chris Stark

"I don't want to say the obvious one of going to the gym more, but I really need to. I have gym membership that I haven't used.

"I went to the induction. I have no end of excuses but I need to do more exercise."

Nick Grimshaw

"I want to learn more and read more. I'm really good at reading magazines, I read everything on the internet and all papers but I'm really bad at reading books. I actually don't know when people have time to read books; I don't know how they do it.

"I also want to learn a language, I want to learn Spanish. I go there a lot, Majorca and Ibiza, and my producer told me the best way to work out your brain is to learn a new language."

Adele Roberts

"I want to face my fears more (not spiders). I recently did a 30-day challenge where I trained with a female body builder and it taught me that you can achieve amazing things if you set your mind to it.

One piece of advice: I’m going to try and laugh more! And have fun, and stop being so serious and boring! I worry too much. Experience life. Bring on 2017!"
