Lawyers to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of di Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob), don file application for di federal high court.

Dem want make di court hear dia motion for Kanu to be transferred to di National Hospital Abuja for urgent medical attention.

Kanu Agabi who be di lead counsel to di Ipob leader, na im file dis application on 3 September 2025, but di matter come up dis Thursday bifor Justice Musa Liman who be one of di two vacation judges wey dey entertain cases as judges of di federal high court still dey on dia annual vacation.

For di hearing, Uchenna Njoku (SAN) wey tok on behalf of Nnamdi Kanu tell di court say dem don file all di medical records including a 14-page affidavit by Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother of di defendant.

Justice Liman say e for prefer if di applicants bin take di matter bifor di substantive judge wey dey try di main matter.

"Di vacation for judges don almost end, by next week Wednesday, courts go resume fully, why not carry dis matter go bifor di substantive judge,"? Justice Liman ask.

Njoku respond say na bicos di matter dey veri urgent and also bicos di defendant no dey ask make court release am kpatakpata or even grant am bail, im prayer na make DSS transfer am to a proper hospital wia e go receive beta treatment and specialists go dey monitor am very closely.

Afta listening to di applicants, Justice Liman say e dey disposed to grant di application sake of di urgency of di matter.

"I believe say di right to health dey as important as di right to life, and so I agree say dis matter fit dey heard by dis vacation court," oga Liman tok.

E fix Monday, 16 September 2025, to hear di motion, and also ask di applicant counsel to serve all di court processes on di respondents so dem go also dey for court on dat day.

Remember say di substantive terrorism charges against Kanu still dey ongoing bifor Justice James Omotosho, di next hearing date for dat one na 10 October 2025. Na on dat day di court go rule on di no-case submission wey Kanu lawyers file for di matter.

More recently, for March of 2024 wen Kanu matter bin still dey bifor Justice Binta Nyako, Kanu bin complain to di court say im health dey go down as e dey detention for di hands of di Department of State Services.

On dat day, as Kanu lawyers bin dey try to argue for im bail and di judge no gree, Kanu ask for permission to address di court by imsef.

"I dey die for DSS custody and dem dey give me nonsense medication and parching me up," Kanu compalin to Justice Nyako.

"I suppose to dey receive treatment for heart condition, but dem dey give me shitty medication. Dem want make I die for custody."

Di Ipob leader even pull up im shirt for di court dia to show Justice Nyako sometin wey dey grow for im two armpits, wey be symptoms of di health challenges wey e dey face.

Kanu ask di court to transfer am to Kuje prison but Justice Nyako refuse as she say Kuje prison no dey safe.

All of dis follow for why Kanu later tok say e no get confidence in Justice Nyako to deliver justice for im matter, and e ask di judge to recuse hersef.
