| About Katie Hall | I'm a mild punk-rocker who has been enjoying the delights of Nottingham over the past three years in the ways that students generally do. My first love was Zappa the cat, named after his highness Frank. My second is my dad's vinyl collection. |
At 17, Nicola is one of the youngest contestants in the Miss Nottingham final, but she's certainly not lacking in experience. Nicola has been modelling since she got spotted at the 2003 Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, which she describes as the best moment of her life so far. "I've done three cat-walk shows since then and I'm getting a portfolio together. Getting spotted at The Clothes Show gave me the confidence to pursue modelling as a career." | | Nicola White |
Winning Miss Nottingham would mean a lot to Nicola. "It's a good opportunity to go to Miss England, and then of course to Miss World which would be amazing!" But she is also keen on the other side of the industry: "My major talent is designing and making clothes, I do it for fun as well as for college work." She is no stranger to the media attention representing Nottingham might get her: "I've been in the local newspapers because of my modelling and also my artwork at college. I was also in Derby's Face of Fashion 2005 competition, and did a video diary for BBC Derby." Nicola's favourite aspect of Nottingham has to be the shops, with her ideal day being "to go shopping and have a nice meal at Dogma, and then in the evening just go around the bars in Hockley." Typical beauty contest questions… 10 years from now… Hopefully I will be successful in the fashion and modelling industry. I would like to travel a lot as well. If I could change one thing about the world… I would make the world more laid back, and get rid of all the people who like to make others' lives miserable.
