Kara Longden, Miss Nottingham 2005 contestant
Kara would love to be a presenter

Kara Longden, Miss Nottingham 2005 finalist

Interview with Katie Hall
Kara Longden, 26, is a flight attendant from Aspley in Nottingham.

About Katie Hall

I'm a mild punk-rocker who has been enjoying the delights of Nottingham over the past three years in the ways that students generally do. My first love was Zappa the cat, named after his highness Frank. My second is my dad's vinyl collection.

Kara, 26, sees the Miss Nottingham contest as a potential springboard to reality television success.

Representing Nottingham would make Kara very proud. "It would be a great honour. If I made it to the Miss England competition that would just be a great lifetime achievement. I would love to get into acting or presenting so I think this will be a good stepping stone to that point."

This is Kara's second venture into the Miss Nottingham contest: "I entered last year, and got into the final ten so would love to win it this year. I enjoyed every aspect of it, especially meeting new people."

And the flight attendant never tires of meeting scores of new people, particularly when those people are on the A-list. "I worked on Mohammed Al-Fayed's private jet for a while! I've also met and served a lot of celebrities which is great fun." Becoming a celebrity herself would be Kara's dream, and hopefully having her picture in her local Retford paper will send her on her way!

Although she constantly travels around the world, Kara loves to come back to Nottingham: "I love the shops, and the nice bars. It's generally a nice town with a nice calibre of people!" Her ideal evening would involve going to a musical show or concert as she is a huge music fan, in fact her greatest talent is dancing.

Typical beauty contest questions…

10 years from now… Hopefully I'll be an actor or presenter, I love reality shows so I'd like to be involved with one of them. I'd also like to see more of the world. With my job I've already seen quite a lot of it but there's more to see, I love travelling. I'd like to visit more European cities as I love the culture, it's very different to here.

If I could change one thing about the world… I'd have to say world peace. It's true isn't it! I bet you're laughing now!
