| About Katie Hall | I'm a mild punk-rocker who has been enjoying the delights of Nottingham over the past three years in the ways that students generally do. My first love was Zappa the cat, named after his highness Frank. My second is my dad's vinyl collection. |
If the stars are to be trusted, this 20 year old from Nuthall should have no problem in this competition. Two years ago a psychic told Heidi that she would become famous for her face, and she's determined to fulfil the prophecy. She already made it to the final 12 in 2002's Miss Nottingham competition, but Heidi thinks she has the chance to get even further this year thanks to the panel becoming, potentially, everyone with a mobile phone. "My greatest talent is getting on with people of all ages, I like meeting the public, stick me in a crowd and I'll just get on with it! I have really enjoyed the public voting aspect of this year's competition, going up to people in the street and convincing them to text in! I know quite a few DJs in Nottingham clubs so I've been getting them to give me shout outs, and sometimes I'll get up and say a few words to the crowd, it's great fun. My school is having a reunion next week to celebrate its 40th birthday so hopefully I'll be able to get everyone there to support me." | | Heidi Gauntlet Munn |
At the moment Heidi is working in a Nottingham factory, but she is no stranger to the glamorous life of a model: "I went to work abroad for three months in France and Spain. I was travelling around as a model and photographer's assistant and it was a fantastic time. And I found out I was in the final 12 while on holiday in Corfu!" But she has no problem coming back down to earth in Nottingham thanks to its thriving nightlife and wide open spaces: "I love Nottingham's nightlife. There are quite a few clubs, and there are also nice places to go and relax like Nottingham Castle, and the big parks. You can always be guaranteed a great atmosphere here, especially if the football's on." Some typical beauty pageant questions… 10 years from now… I'll probably be in a similar situation to now, where I'm trying to get my name known and it not happening! If I could change one thing about the world… I would gather together about five weeks worth of lottery rollover money and organise a massive party for everybody for everyone to get along. I'd clear all the debt in the world so there'd be no conflict. Also I'd stop animals and old people from getting hurt. I'm a big fan of old people.
