Dee Dee na na na
The Friday before your holidays. Chaos. So many things on your 'to do' list, you end up wondering whether the trip is actually worth it in the first place. Let's assume it is. I shall arrive exhausted into the ARF studio, thrilled to have a couple of hours of sanity before the madness takes over...
Slowly learning that life is ok
How many books to take on holiday? It's the annual conundrum. Ebooks have their place of course but I like a good paperback tucked in my bag. A few stolen minutes with a coffee by the dunes/beach hut/pool without the family and there's no need for a screen!
Bettin' on the number
Back door open, swifts are still having their fill and the pain au chocolate was a guilty pleasure. A Wednesday treat, a bonus for good behaviour. I'm planning a few of those over August. The gym membership will need to be renewed after all.

Dank and dismal here, positively autumnal in fact. Much better out west and up north so spare a thought for the poor southerners digging out the September clothes already.

Well I'll try again. Thanks to Penny for driving from Devon to host the show yesterday. She was surprised, I was surprised. Who knew I'd miss the show? The culprit was a rogue bottle top, lurking dangerously in the road. Mrs H steps on it, turns her foot, falls, then breaks her arm as she lands....

Oh I can't take another heartache
A blog from the garden, pre-7 o'clock! Coffee, swifts, gulls, sprinklers, waking babies, planes, helicopters, radios and bees make up the audio feed which I should really record and post as an aural accompaniment. But I'm not sure the BBC blog technology would cope too well if I tried.
Light up your face with gladness
Sunny morning for all it seems. Happy Monday y'all! Hope that weekend was a corker. We had rolling birthday BBQs which seemed to last all weekend. And actually they did. The food prep and washing up was a non-stop operation.
