I'm glad to announce the safe (if early) arrival of Freddie last night, 10.59pm weighing only 5lbs 11oz and looking distictly neanderthal (hairy!!)

He was due Christmas eve, which made planning who was going to eat xmas dinner & where quite problematic - all now sorted.



Lovely to hear the theme, as my #1 grandson Alfie has JUST become a BROTHER, so for him any of the above would suit - I'd like to add

I’m looking forward to Twilight – I was a bit sniffy about the books until I was forced to read one for my bookclub. Nothing life changing - just hugely entertaining - as are the films. I will wait until all the teenage hysteria has died down before I go and see it though.



The only interesting trailer last night was the Coen Brothers remake of Gambit with Colin Firth – but not sure which side of the funny / too daft line it falls though.

Very busy here so didn't catch the show at all yesterday except 20mins between 6.30 & 6.50 when I was driving home - I didn't hear any menshes though.



We're doing 'pyjamas for Pudsie' today, so I still feeling as though I should be in bed. You can't underestimate the psychological effect of putting on smart clothes and strapping on a pair of stilettoes to get you in the 'work' frame of mind.

90 years of the BBC today, and it seems his Lordship is at the Science Museum. How ironic for this anniversary to come in a week when the BBC is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. (Although I can't help thinking there are too many journalists caught in their own bubble reporting it like a major world crisis. Just get on and do your jobs and broadcast some stuff please - you're not saving lives or delivering world peace)

I've just been listening to Chris Evans' programme with the fund-raising for Children in Need and people have been invited to text in for the dine, disco and Gary Barlow in CE's pub and the cost of the text is £2.50 but only about £1.50 goes to CiN, so where does the rest go?



I have texted The One Show for their youngsters' Rickshaw Ride challenge and the whole of the cost of the text goes to CiN, so I wonder why this doesn't happen on CE's show....



I hope everyone who will be answering the phones on Friday enjoys themselves.

On the food front, our healthier diet options come in the form of freshly caught fish, crab etc. (although most locals still buy theirs from supermarkets, I suspect). Devon and Cornwall do have some wonderful meat producers. the Tamar valley is well known for its soft fruit production and both Devon and Cornwall have highly successful vineyards.



Clotted Cream and Cornish Pasties are pretty awesome however.
