#19 I must have been a real trend setter, John. My Nan knitted 2 mohair cardies for me in the 70s.



Thought I'd try my hand at knitting in the early 80s and used odd pins (one large, one small - anyone else remember that?) I sold loads of wee jumpery things when I was at college for £2.50 each. I was robbed, robbed I tell you!

In fact brings back memories of when a was 15 on a Saturdee afternoon as a rail enthusiast taking a class 31 loco on the Liverpool ter Sheffield line.... Through the beautiful 'ills and the roar through thr 3.5 mile long Totley Tunnel under the Pennine 'ills!!!!!!

But then Mr M is a sort of pristine person isn't he - just thinking back to previous blog discussions about hands....

Secondly, and lastly, we had a lovely time at the Crucible theatre today. It was great to see Deebee again, and amelia is lovely too. Simon and Mark were on good form, and the two hours passed in no time at all. I must confess that I did notice Simon's clean soles, because having failed to observe his size 7 feet when last we met, I couldn't help but have a peek this time around.

Good Morning All



Congratulations ARFO King Simonward1964!



Had a lovely time yesterday, but I've come home full of sniffles and sneezes. Hope I didn't infect Zoe and Amelia.



As Amelia and Zoe have already said, it was great to watch Simon and Mark doing what they do so well. Very different from the Bond special so I didn't feel too guilty going to both of them within a few weeks of each other - and there were a few empty seats so I wasn't depriving anyone else. We didn't get a chance to say hello this time, as our leader had to rush off straight after the show to do ARF somewhere else, and Dr K had to go and pick up his children in Southampton. Or something...



Afterwards we went and had something to eat in a pub, then after Zoe and Mr W had gone Amelia and I sat and chatted like old friends over a coffee, until it was time for me to catch my train.



Off now to play with my new fruity phone, which arrived yesterday - the one that begins with an A, not the one that begins with a B. If I can stop sneezing for long enough...

Morning! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Like Jennie, we had wierd weather here yesterday - brilliant sunshine but simultaneous heavy rain and we counted 5 rainbows throughout the day. Today is one of those beautiful autumnal days - a heavy dew, sunshine, and leaves falling gently. Time for a good brisk walk, I think.



Just catching up first on some TV - watching Celia Imrie's 'Who do you think you are?'. Also saw, last night on the news, the 'final journey' of the space shuttle. Does anyone else remember the first journey of the shuttle all those years ago? Those moments when we waited for it to reappear after its first journey into space?



Found a CD last night in Mr H's dusty collection entitled 'The Marquee - 30 Legendary Years'. Today's lunch-cooking music I think.

Morning all, after a crisp start here (thats the weather, not my brekkie, that would be so wrong!) its a beautiful sunny day.



Hoffs and Jennie, aren't they great. Yes I have seen spoonbills in France and was told that the white birds in the distance at Brownsea a couple of weeks back, were spoonbills, but I believe that I should actually be able to see the ones shown by the Friends of the Groyne!!

#89 - I had a work colleague many years ago (a fellow computer programmer at the time) who claimed a programmer's breakfast (similar idea to a ploughman's lunch) was a cup of black coffee and a bag of crisps.



Spoonbills very impressive. I've never seen any, but I have visited Brownsea Island in the distant past - a must visti place for anyone with any connection to the Scout Movement, and most of us have probably been a member at some point.



Can't help think that 'Friends of the Groyne' sounds a bit dubious, though.

Hope all weekends have gone well. Inspired by Sal and Florence (and Amelia's sea photo) we took advantage of the glorious weather and went out to take some autumnal photographs. Now have the Sunday evening blues - definitely time to slow my metabolic rate, lower my body temperature and disappear under the duvet!
