I was around Windermere yesterday - a beautiful day and a fine view of the boats out on the water. Most were on their moorings but there were some catching the breeze further out - I guess you may have been amongst them. I was hoping for a sighting of the Red Kites around Grizedale, but wasn't lucky. I'll have to try again another day.



DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO ME is also a good idea - was very relevant to a friend of mine when doing his teacher training.



Sal suggested NO MILK TODAY - can I suggest no milk any day, ever ? I never did like the stuff.

What are blogpoppets thinking about the Paralympics? There hasn't been much mention of them on here and I wondered if they were being watched with the same enthusiasm as the 'Lympics? Personally, I haven't been watching as much as I did and have been trying to reason why. I think it is because there has been too much emphasis on the contestants disability, how it was caused etc. It feels a little voyeuristic somehow. If the contestants were introduced purely by their name, as in the 'Lympics, I feel it would be better - any thoughts, or is it just me?

#63 I haven't watched much of the Paralympics, but that's as much a reflection on the fact that I don't watch a lot of TV generally, plus much of it is on during the day when I'm at work. I have been following the results with interest though. I know what you mean about the contestants' disabilities - I guess it's only natural to be curious about them, particularly those with acquired disabilities. I find it quite interesting how many of them were athletes before they were injured, and the fact that they now have a disability hasn't stopped them from wanting to achieve and be the best they can. I take my hat off to them, and not in a patronising way.

Evening all !!

Last day of the school holidays here in our house, and Im doing all those jobs that the return to school nescessitate. Shoes are polished, uniform pressed, water bottle cleaned. At the begining of the 7 weeks it was my intention to 'deep clean' my waterproof coat during the first week giving it plenty of time to dry etc. Of course it came to last Saturday night and I was stuffing said coat into the machine for a quick hot wash having forgotten all about the thing till tea time. Unfortunatly, I washed cherubs red coat at the same time and although lovely and clean, my waterproof now has a somewhat 'orange' hue to it :-o Hmmm colour run anyone ??



Also FINALLY got round to changing my name back from the olympic version, its been a busy summer but at least ive made it to the end without breaking any bones this year.



Friday nights party seems such a long time ago now, clearly ive consumed too much champers - we were woken this morning by the sound of our wine stopper 'popping' out of a half drunk bottle of bubbly and smashing into my best casserole dish. Clearly it was incompattable with pressurised containers.



Party set to re-convine at 9.10am tomorrow outside the school gates. Oh Autumn, how I love thee !!!!

Oh Billie, no need to apologies but thank you. My good friend google tells me that it was called that as it was the title track of a movie of the same name, High School Hop would seem to be a much more appropriate title.
