All quiet on the Mum front today. She had a 'row' with her warden yesterday who she accused of 'never having set foot in the place before'. Well I've been and come back from Southampton - MRI scan etc - they had a few problems finding the brain [haha] but all seems to be intact after my last lot of surgery. If not, they'll tell me soon enough.

Might be reassuring to see a return to those days?

#67 A day out in London sounds very exciting! As Gill says, museums are good - also (I've said this to you elsewhere but I'll repeat it for the benefit of others) whenever I get the chance I like to go to Harrods. I can't afford to actually buy anything there, but I just think it's such a fascinating shop. And if the weather is good, maybe you could take one of those open top bus rides. And there's always the parks... actually, I don't think one day is going to be enough for you to fit it all in!

On mensh chasing - I agree with Deebee, that the show is often more enjoyable when you aren't listening out for menshes, and just enjoying the music that is played. I do like the challenge of thinking up songs to fit the themes though, I think the thrill is more in the chase, than in winning the prize, so to speak. That being said, a mensh from Simon does make me smile, and it is especially gratifying if you are the only one to think of that song. (The sought after solo mensh - lol) Anyway, I haven't had a mensh for over 3 weeks anyway, so no danger of overdoing it there. It is a shame though, for the newbies, and rare menshees, that it seems to be the usual suspects who get menshed day after day.



On Blockbusters - I watched the first episode last night, I thought the set looked great and Simon was great, but... It's just my opinion, and personal preference, but I think the show worked better in a teatime slot with only student age contestants. The questions aren't exactly all that taxing, and the art to it all is who is fastest on the buzzer, not necessarily intellect. Still, it's diverting enough easy entertainment for half-an-hour. *Waits for Deebee's rebuttal* ;-)



Another confession - The mentions today of 'Rear of the Year', take me back to 2007, when I was part of a fandom that successfully mounted an Internet campaign, to secure the object of our affections, the 'Male Rear of the Year' award. (Oh, the shame!) I see the website is taking nominations for the 2012 title, I would nominate Simon, but as he rather makes his living sitting on his rear, I can't say whether the goods are up to snuff... Calling Deebee, again ;-D
