Duelling Drs...

Post categories:

Simon Mayo|09:20 UK time, Friday, 16 March 2012

Greetings!

Friday dawns chilly and dull on the estate. Yesterday's sock dilemma solved today by the need for padding.

I am duelling with swords. This morning I am fighting Mark Kermode with a foil or épée (I was hoping for sabre, the third and heaviest of the fencing swords but was told no) for Sport Relief.

Verbal sparring is all very well but in days of yore, disputes were settled with the use of weaponry. Pistols at dawn, that kind of thing. Well today we will see who has the quickest eye, the deadliest lunge and the suppleness needed to win. Or maybe we'll find out who has the weakest back, the creakiest knees and the worst helmet-hair.

I don't think I've told anyone I fenced at school and have a gene memory of parry, riposte, lunge and intend to keep as quiet as possible. As they say in Hunger Games, may the odds always be in my favour. (And the movie podcast sits at No.9, the Confessions podcast at number one! Well well.)

Because of the fun of Cheltenham, movies on 5L today from 12 for one hour. Then frankly I could walk it to Radio 2 for the loveliness of another ARF. 2 hours of listeners who appear to be about to have a better weekend than you.

We need to up our game! Let's make plans! Choose your song and let's get this party started. Have a safe and duel-free Friday. See you at 12 and 5

    Good morning everyone.

A change of tack for my ARFO request although please feel free to play Transvision Vamp’s “I Want You Love” if you feel the urge.

Today, I fancy a mosh to get the weekend off to a start. So, please NYM/tune-chooser, how about a thundering opener of a song featuring the banshee-like vocals of Udo Dirkschneider :

    BURNING by ACCEPT

    P.S. Allez les bleus! ;-)

  • Comment number 4.

    Good morning again,

En Garde Simon! I have a link with the fencing fraternity and had been tipped off about your impending duel. Good luck. Remember the honour of Drivetime is in your hands - but do mind your back.

Actually I have also been fencing this week - but mine duels were with a very excited group of toddlers - and before anyone reports me to 'elf 'n safety I should add we used foam swords and the event was supervised by a former GB and Wales fencer who also oversaw the Chris Evans/Jonny Saunders fencing sporting challenge.

    My ARFO suggestion is:

THERE'S A GUY WORKS DOWN THE CHIP SHOP SWEARS HE'S ELVIS by Kirsty MacColl

I really must get to the toddler group now.

  • Comment number 5.

Last night Simon played a track by Michael Kiwanuka and said he really liked the album. Kiwanuka was live on Fearne Cotton's show on Monday and it can be viewed at:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/sessions/2012-03-12_michaelkiwanuka

His debut album "Home Again" is "Album of the Week" on Tom Morton's show on Radio Scotland and it really is superb. Find it if you can :-)

  • Comment number 6.

Good Morning Simon, Team and Blogpoppets

Good luck with the duelling, Simon - careful you don't hurt yourself. Or each other... (yikes!)

    My ARFO suggestions are:

    BOOGIE NIGHTS by Heatwave

TWIST AND SHOUT by the Beatles

WHO LOVES YOU by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

SOMETHING ABOUT YOU by Level 42

    Morning all

Good luck with the fencing Simon - sounds like fun. Don't hurt Mark ... too much :)

  • Comment number 10.

    Good Morning All :)

En Garde! I have a friend who is a fencing teacher, and she and her husband used to compete at a national level. Her son has carried on the tradition now.

ARFO suggestions, and an eclectic bunch today...

JET - PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS

IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU - YVONNE ELIMANN

FLASHDANCE (WHAT A FEELING) - IRENE CARA

TAKE ME OUT - FRANZ FERDINAND

That's enough to be getting on with I think.

Now, is it nap time yet? Zzzzzzzzz....

  • Comment number 11.

    Hi Simon and everyone.

Including those in the soundproof booth mastercheffing it!

Fencing eh? sounds more dangerous than kickboxing, however slightly more graceful!

Come on Simon do Drive time proud!!!

I have to referee at competition on Sunday and compete (for free as I am refereeing) and babysitting the kickboxing club tonight, tomorrow afternoon and maybe the 4 and 5 year old class on Monday as my mate is at Center P**cs with family to celebrate his parents 40th Wedding Anniversary ( hope not as mega stressful as I get tempted to have the child catcher on Speed Dial....joking aside 5 are lovely, but the other 2 are going through their teenage years early if you catch my drift!)

Anyway my ARFO for today is:

    CMON EVERYBODY - Eddie Cochrane

Bryan Adams plays this as one of his encores and it is ace.

Have lovely weekends and Deebee hope Masterchef finished how you wanted it to.

    Laters

    Mandy ;)

  • Comment number 12.

Good morning again Swashbuckling Simon, tip-top team and beautiful blogpoppets.

Good luck with the swordycuffs, Sir, I'm sure you'll do us proud.

Harry, I too am really enjoying the Michael Kiwanuka album. I heard the title track a while back and just fell in love with his voice. The whole album is a delight, I heartily second your recommendation.

And so to the ARFO. I think we need some ..

SWEET SOUL MUSIC by ARTHUR CONLEY

to get us ready for the weekend.

    Enjoy your Fridays.

    Jx

  • Comment number 13.

    Morning All,

Where has that warm glowing orb in the sky gone??

Deebee, don't worry, I wont be giving away the MC winner. I stopped watching it some weeks back, mainly as I found the woman that does the voice over incredibly annoying.

    My ARFO suggestions:

    Mama by Genesis

Tie Your Mother Down by Queen

in honour of Mothers Day this coming Sunday or how about

    Fantastic Day by Haircut 100

such a great feel good sound.

Right my grocery delivery has just arrived, hope you all have good weekends whatever you are up to. Simon, please be careful with those foils, you'll have someone's eye out! ;-)

Morning all from a glorious South Yorkshire.

Fencing eh. Good luck to the both of you.

    Can I please suggest

Are you gonna go my way - Lenny Kravitz

    Stonking from start to finish.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

    A.

  • Comment number 16.

I think it's coffee time now and like a good girl I brought a banana with me. However, a colleague has just walked in and hand delivered some home baking which looks scrummy so the banana is beginning to look sad and lonely on my desk;(

  • Comment number 17.

**banging frantically on the glass of the soundproof booth, pointing to the door and doing the universally recognised "question" pose, both palms upturned, eyebrows raised, lifting shoulders"**

    Can I come out yet?

  • Comment number 18.

Hi again Simon, Team and Blogpoppets

How about one of these to kick off the weekend... a change from Mosh type songs!

    FISHERMAN'S BLUES ~ The Waterboys

JOYCE COUNTRY CEILI BAND ~ The Saw Doctors

  • Comment number 19.

Can anyone else hear some banging in here? Hmmm maybe not, must be the woodpeckers again.

  • Comment number 20.

#12 Jilly, I only picked up on the album last week but I've been listening to it almost non-stop since then.

Can I make a suggestion? On Twitter they have the #ff (does it stand for "follow Friday"?) where users can recommend other users to their followers. How about, here on the DT blog, on Fridays, we all recommend our current favourite album?

With the absence of the mensh-chase, it might be a way of drawing people in for a chat and a way of discovering new music.

    Just a thought.

  • Comment number 21.

    good plan Harry....

Richard Hawley's Truelove's Gutter, not a new album but one I've revisited the last few weeks. Every song is gem.

Oxygen supply getting very thin in here ,

    fading fast,

    gasp, gasp

*grabs emergency hammer and makes break for freedom*

  • Comment number 23.

I seem to remember when James May was on the show last year he was talking about duelling and bringing it back as a way to settle disputes. It's a thought...

I'll be checking out the Michael Kiwanuka album this weekend too. He has such a lovely warm voice, and I haven't tried any 'new' music for a while. Another recent discovery (for me, anyway!) is the Civil Wars. I have Dermot O'Leary's Saturday Sessions album from last year, and they do a fab version of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' on there.

    ~X~

  • Comment number 24.

#20 #23 actually there are quite a few gems on the Saturday Sessions album - for example another one is the Pierces singing 'The air that I breathe'. So can I nominate that as my album of the week.

    ~X~

  • Comment number 25.

#22 John, that banging reminds me of that movie (only lasts about 20 minutes) where the man gets trapped in the phone box and he's banging to get out, a truck comes along and lifts the phone box onto the back of the truck and moves off.......................................... oh it's scary.

  • Comment number 26.

Morning all! Hope you are enjoying your day so far....

#20 - Good plan Harry - are we allowed to include stuff that's old but that we are listening to again?

#13 - Mousqetaire Madchick - I'm with you on the Masterchef woman. I think Sally Traffic would do a much better job.

Not packing today. Having a cooking morning instead. Full house for lunch - saying goodbye to some of my fellow school-runners. Have just enjoyed several brown round bananas with my coffee.

For the ARFO today, can I suggest:

REELIN' AND ROCKIN' - CHUCK BERRY

(Hopefully Simon and Mark will not be reelin' after their duel - good luck)

    See you all later x

Ps. For some reason I have 'back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other' on my brain - anyone recognise it and can you remind me of the rest?!!

  • Comment number 27.

Good Morning all, from a grey South Coast.

*** Twilight *** by ELO if you'd be so kind please Simon.

  • Comment number 28.

    Morning all,

Been quite a week here - various reasons, glad to see the back o't myself.

Re fencing, daughter #2 who is of course child #3 is doing fencing at school and tried to teach me some moves last week, to great hilarity from both her and myself!

Maybe you have to be wearing the right gear and not pj's!

Sorry surfit of !!'s will try and keep under control...

#5 thanks to Harry as usual pointing us in a higher direction, musically, anyway.

I heard the comments about the song - and of course have since forgotten to check out the chap's name from the 'music played' list.

#9 Yes, be gentle with Mark and of course he will have to damage is legendary quiff in order to don the helmet...ouch that will hurt more than any Corps-a-corps..

#13 agreed about the voice over woman on MC - we call her Miss Oleaginous

    #17 has he been misbehaving?

Quite a weekend for us - a busy Sunday (at Southbank Centre to see Tord Gustavsen, who he? you may well ask...gentle jazz favourite of ours) means we are doing Mother's day on Saturday with an evening dinner - which I am cooking for the mother-in-law..... WHEN I want to know is it going to be my turn to get dinner cooked? Will I have to be approaching 90 too?

Anywho, onto the ARFO song and I have a small list of desired tracks:

    THE JAM: GOING UNDERGROUND

    OR

DAVE EDMUNDS: HERE COMES THE WEEKEND (yee haa)

OR a final push for the (very nearly pensioner (25th March)) Sir Elton John and his

CROCKODILE ROCK laaaa la la la la laaaaaaaaaa etc

Have fun all, and remember if you can't play nice, no-one will ask you to play.

  • Comment number 29.

Morning Simon, team, NYM, Matt of the underperforming BAIU, and swashbuckling bloggers,

Épées, foils and sabres? Pah, mine’s bigger than yours.

Lunge and riposte, you say? In your spare couple of hours this afternoon, perhaps you could call an emergency meeting of the BAIU-COBRA committee? The blog engine is still causing us grief, lots of riposting, and riposting again, still to be confronted by green and pink boxes, and, worse, losing your riposte. And if the bloggers bump into Matt of the BAIU in a dark alley tonight, we might just lunge for him with our long sharp pointy things. Consider it a chivalrous fair warning.

    And so to the ARFO:

As it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow, this might get your mama moshing round the kitchen:

MAMA WEER ALL CRAZEE NOW – Slade

Or for the slightly more conservative...

DOES YOUR MOTHER KNOW - Abba

And here are a few I’ve been saving all week

    COUNTRY GIRL – Primal Scream

    GOING UNDERGROUND – The Jam

    NEW ORLEANS - Gillan

That’s m’lot. Thank you kindly. En garde!

  • Comment number 35.

I do hope this means it is totally foreverly really truly fixed :)

As an aside.. JBG, I was going to rescue you from the booth earlier but the broken blog thwarted me.. honest!

One comment I have been trying to make for most of the day (amongst other things which have now escaped me) ....

#20 Great idea Harry. #FA - for our favourite album ... or sweet FA if we have nothing to contribute! lol.

In case this is a fleeting blip in the broken blogosphere, I'll take this opportunity to wish you all t'rific weekends.

    Have fun, lovelies.

    Jillyxxx

  • Comment number 36.

Sorry about that. The hammer slipped out of my hand, went straight through the glass in the soundproof booth, and smashed the camshaft on the blog-engine.

But maybe, just maybe, it's jolted the spark plugs back into life, and eliminated the problem with the persistent boxes.

Fingets crossed. And with, my friends, I bid you Adieu.

    Happy weekends all.

  • Comment number 37.

What was the ARFO? Was it a blogger?

  • Comment number 38.

No Harry. Lynn Somebody or other and her 2 year old son. Do the Hucklebuck - Coast to Coast.

  • Comment number 39.

#38 Hmmmmmmm, a good one to miss, methinks ;-)

Cripes, I tried to post numerous post during the afternoon but had to resort to doing work work instead. Most inconsiderate bloggy blog;)

  • Comment number 48.

#47 I don't think the blog is working up to it's full potential yet as there were are a few errors noted. "Posts" and "some work" up there in the running.

Have a good weekend everyone. Tony will have to live a weekend without me as I'm off to have a belated birthday lunch with my cousin tomorrow who is 1 year and 2 days older than me ;0)

  • Comment number 49.

  • Comment number 51.

    Hi All

Just wanted to say a big thank you for indulging me in not discussing the Masterchef final. I know it was quite hard for one or two of you in particular, although the blog problems must have helped...

    ;o)

Anyway, I've now watched it and I am very happy with the result, and not entirely surprised... if only it was as easy to predict the ARFO song...

Love the Bechod bench, Flo - very stylish!

    ~X~

  • Comment number 52.

Deebee, so pleased you didn't know the result of Masterchef before watching it and good job you weren't listening to Chris Evans today... other than missing Lewis Moody!!! Shelina was a worthy winner as she was so good all the way through the eight weeks and she certainly loves mangos! I really liked Andrew and had a soft spot for him but I feel the strawberries let him down as did John and Greg's love of Shelina... I thought Greg was going to cry last night whilst eating her food!

Oh.. and the Bechod Bench was for Billie from yesterday's post #79 and hopefully it's been well used this afternoon in the absence of blogging.

    xx

  • Comment number 53.

    Evening All :)

Just a quick pop in with some album suggestions. BTW great idea Harry :)

I have been playing 'Like Drawing Blood' & 'Making Mirrors' by Gotye, quite a lot. I think some bloggers may be suffering from Gotye fatigue though, although I would say that the rest of the album is quite different from 'Somebody That I Used To Know'.

Anyway, my other current albums on play, are mostly of the Country genre (thank you (should-be-Sir) Bob Harris) There's 'Hello Cruel World' by Gretchen Peters, and 'Leaving Eden' by Carolina Chocolate Drops. I also loved the song by Todd Snider that BH played on his Country show the other week, it is called 'In The Beginning' and it's from the album 'Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables', but I haven't had a chance to listen to the album yet.

Finally, there's Alabama Shakes, I've been listening to the songs from their E.P, but their album 'Boys and Girls' is being released early April. The song 'Hold On' has been released as a single in the US, I think, but I'm not sure about over here.

Have a great weekend everyone & I hope the blog will be glitch free soon :-/

    Goodnight one and all xxxx

#52 Phew, Flo! I get the feeling you were bursting to get that out! I agree with you - Shelina was the most consistently good one, although I also had a soft spot for Andrew.

    Good morning all!

Hope all is well in blogland. Looks like yesterday was a frustrating one.

We had a lovely day yesterday. Finally had our Valentine's Day lunch - went to an Italian restaurant in Tenterden. Bruschetta followed by wild mushroom and spinach risotto with a rocket salad on the side. Mr P had calamari and a huge pizza. Then did some clothes shopping which was vital as I have lost so much weight that my clothes were literally falling off me. And then we went to the cat rescue place......

No suitable boy cats but they have our details and will call when one comes in. Mr P was almost adopted by a wee ginger and white kitten called Sugar. She was really cute but I don't think Rosie would approve!

Was going to have outside play today but the rain has started so today will mainly be spent filling in passport renewal forms. Fun. Not.

    Catch you all later!

    Afternoon everyone

Must be a north/south divide as it's really mild, sunny and dry here again today and my husband was driving with his top down this morning! I have been out forking around the borders and have cut the grass, so now have a neater looking garden with the pansies, big daffs, mini daffs, polyanthus, grape hyacinths etc all looking very pretty.

It will soon be time for the Shony Blackburn show and I think Tony will be miffed if Shona's not listening to him today and I won't be listening either as I'm going to walk my dogs down to the sea front, which will probably be busy with the city folk out for fresh air!

Good luck to Wales, who I hope win their game of rugby so they take the Grand Slam.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and the cake, Jilly.

Zoe, I would heartily recommend seeing Sweeney - it was wonderful! If you are thinking of going, you should perhaps have a look for tickets fairly soon. The theatre was full, and there were people queuing the following morning for tickets.

    'See' you all on Monday.

    Hi All

I now have pristine kitchen cupboards :o) And the dogpoppet has been to the doggie hairdresser and looks several pounds lighter!

Downloaded Michael Kiwanuka's album 'Home Again' today and I've been listening to it for most of the afternoon, and loving it! So thanks to Harry - and Simon - for the recommendation.

I always feel slightly out of it when there's rugby on, as if I'm being excluded from some club. I'm not especially a football fan, but I'll watch the big matches and if it's on TV and I happen to be in the room I have a reasonable idea of what's going on. But rugby is a complete mystery to me - don't understand the scoring, don't understand anything about it. I'm sure if someone was to sit down with me and go through it I'd get it, but I'm afraid I don't have the interest. As far as I can tell it's just a group of - it has to be said, rather hunky - men running round a muddy field chasing a strange shaped ball...

Glad you had a good birthday Tortie, and that you enjoyed Sweeny Todd.

Off to another charity quiz evening shortly. We don't have the Brainys this time, so we probably won't do as well. I'm sure it will be good fun, anyhow.

    Evening All

What a mix of weathers we have had today - brilliant sunshine and blue sky - then cloud and heavy rain - then sun and blue sky again and Hail - at the same time! There must have been a rainbow somewhere but we couldn't see it - so no pot of gold then.

Nevermind - we are rich in other ways!

#59 Alex - it does sound like a lovely day. I love Italian food. I have never had Calamari. I can’t get my head around what it is - and although I have no reason to think so - I imagine I won’t like the texture - rubbery ? (no jokes about Chinese Restaurants!) -

    Did you get new clothes?

#61 Tortie - glad you enjoyed your birthday and the show - I’ve read Rave Reviews!

#60 Florence - as you will have heard - they did!

#62 Hi Deebee - Can see your cupboards gleaming! Why are they called "cup- boards"?

We have just assembled a Roasted Veg. Lasagne. Nimps it was - as the veg. had been roasted weeks ago and frozen - it smells delish even in its cold state!

@ Harry - from yesterday - is it #ff ? (Don’t dare to look back!)

NEW - Caro Emerald - “Deleted Scenes form the Cutting Room Floor”

OLD - Billy Fury - “The Sound of Fury” - about which I could write a Novello!

Hope everyone’s doing what they like best! Ha!

What a lovely day spent in Perth with my cousin for belated birthday times together. Lovely lunch and a trip to an art gallery afterwards which was great and good giggling fun after 4 large glasses of wine.

A long sleep later and managed to post on the blog. I hope Uncle Tony's show was good for those who heard it. I must listen later on the ketchup thing.

Hope you have nice times tonight.

Good morning everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the mums!

I was sitting in the garden having a cuppa, a few minutes ago, admiring the daffs, colourful polyanthus etc and thought about the millions of daffodils that are being left to rot because of Scotland's mild winter, causing them to flower two weeks early and all the pickers still busy down south!

What a waste, when children will be paying over the odds for daffs for their mums today!

Good Morning All. Happy Mothering Sunday! Daughter is coming home this afternoon for a couple of days - a real treat, as I thought I would be without both my babies today.

Had a great evening at the quiz - and we won! Also won a couple of raffle prizes, so a good result all round. And it was for a good cause - a charity that helps children in under developed countries.

Hello - just popped by briefly to wish all lovely blogger mothers a Happy Mother's Day!

Also, won't be in for a while so just wanted to say that I hope that everyone at Drivetime and all bloggers have a good week with:

    - lots of sunshine, kind bosses, multiple menshes on the show and some of the usual varied blog discussions;

    without:

    - lurgies, rain, fog, broken cars, traffic jams and, most definitely, no green boxes!

On the move tomorrow. See you soon x

Ps. Congrats Deebee on the quiz. Hope you enjoy your time with your daughter this afternoon x

#70 - Apologies - grammar in this post not good. Not necessarily thinking as straight as I normally would...

    Afternoon all!

Gorgeous day today - been playing in the garden. Clouding over now though.

Yes - did get some clothes, Billy. Two pairs of jeans, a pair of chinos and 2 tops. All sorted for casual wear now.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all mothers out there. Spoke to mind earlier - sibling is taking her out to lunch.

I have very clever mogpoppets! I had a Mothers Day card from them ...... and a copy of "Itch"!!! I love my mogpoppets. Even if one of them was sick beside the bed at 6am..........

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone!

    Good Evening All –

Just thinking that this time next week, please God, we’ll have another hour of daylight.

The sun is just setting – yellowy orange - and the sky is streaked with pinks and purples and violets and lilacs. Wonderful!

It has been cold today but truly beautiful –and we have done lots of outdoor things – weeding, cutting the lawn and strimming the edges and we have dried some washing outside. Everything is lush and green – truly with

    ♫♫

”the promised kiss of Springtime” ♫♫ !

Supper tonight – A cheat Roast Beef Dinner – the beef & gravy from the freezer – everything else done freshly. Mr. Russell Davis will be joining us a’table as usual – I would really like him to make some comment about the food he’s eating! Ha!

Before that I shall KB - I think I'll start with "The Love of the Common People" which Mr. O'Grady is now playing.

Hope all mothers and those with mothers have had Special Days.

Hoffs – good luck with the move! We had one dreadful one when everything possible went wrong but I’ll not tell you the details now! Ha! Stay calm. Stay smiling – whatever – and don’t forget where the bubbly is for the other end. May I also suggest a TakeAway?

    Enjoy!

    Good Evening All

Daughter now here - and she brought flowers and chocolates. I feel truly blessed! Of course it's not just the material things - it would have been lovely to see her even without the presents. She's been telling us horror stories of university life though - it's good that she feels able to share, but I'm not sure I want to know... Can't help worrying about her when she's not close by - it's a mother's instinct I suppose.

Alex, what clever mogpoppets indeed! Did they choose the card themselves? Hope you're going to read Itch aloud to them... ;o)

Hoffs, hope the move goes well. Will be thinking of you.

Billie, you posted while I was composing mine. Your sunset sounds gorgeous - its already dark here, but we're further east so I guess that means we lose the sun earlier. Enjoy your "cheat" roast dinner, and your KBing!

    Good evening everyone.

Good luck with the move Hoffs - hope it all goes well.

Billie, what a lovely sunset that must have been.

Deebee, glad your daughter came to visit you for Mother's Day and don't listen to University stories - too scary. X

I'm out and about all day tomorrow so won't get a chance to choon chase but I'll maybe see you in the morning before I head off.

    Evening All;

I hope all mums had a lovely Mother's day :)

I got two handmade cards & one that the mister bought for me, my present was a mouse! Not a real one, but one of these to add to my collection https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHouseOfMouse

I didn't get much of a chance to relax, or be pampered, with the twins running me ragged. But tomorrow, I am going for a meal with my mum, aunty and nan, so that will be nice.

Tortie - Glad to hear that you enjoyed Sweeney Todd :) I am hoping to go as a birthday treat, but as my birthday is on the same day as Michael Ball's (though he has a few years on me!) I want to make sure he's working that day, I'd hate to miss him!

Hoffs - Good luck with the move, hope it all runs smoothly x

Billie - I heard Paul O'Grady play that song too! Hope you have fun KB-ing it :)

I hope to be here for the mensh chasing in the morning, but I haven't had much luck lately. My last mensh was over 3 weeks ago! :'(

    Goodnight one and all xxxx

    Good Morning Everyone

After glorious weather at the weekend, it has turned very dull and grey today. Good luck with the choon chasing today and I'll catch you when I can.

Morning all. Lovely sunny day here today, which is nice as I have the day off. It was my birthday yesterday but I had to work, so i've effectively postponed it by a day. If the weather stays this good (which it looks as though it will) I shall be out for a lovely walk by the Thames.

Doubt I'll be on the blog much, so have a great day all!

    Good morning lovelies.

After a very frosty start, a beautiful day has appeared. Wall to wall blue sky and bright sunshine :)

Happy Belated Birthday to The Driver for yesterday.. hope you have a great day today in the sunshine.

PLEASE... MATT and the BAIU, sort the blog out. Every time I tried to post over the weekend I got a box. The colours and the wording changed but it all means the same, we can't post :(

See you - hopefully - over the page.
