This is quite amusing. A couple of days ago Mr B got one of those bogus callers - the sort that tell you there is a problem with your computer. He was a bit bored so decided to string the guy along a bit. Eventually the bogus caller (BC) said "So then, I just need your credit card details". The ensuing conversation went something like this:



Mr B: Er, I'm afraid I don't have a credit card at the moment. Can I send you a cheque?



BC: I suppose so. I'll need your payment card number though



Mr B: I usually write that on the back of the cheque



BC: (reluctantly) Okay...



Mr B: So if you'd just give me an address to send the cheque to, I'll pop it in the post to you today



BC: (gives a name and address in London)



Mr B: Thank you very much. Right, I'll just pass that on to the police and trading standards authority...



BC (hangs up)

I had one recently telling me on the phone that my bank had overcharged me and they wanted to have my account details to get a cheque paid in...I refused my account number etc - and asked for a call back phone number to check them out (suprise suprise it was a dud number) as their number on my display was 'unavailable'.

Who on earth is going to give out bank account details over the phone to a random person calling from another country....



The Bechod Bench is much more comfy than the naughty step, by the way - plumped cushions, spirits on tap, I quite enjoy my evenings on there ;-)

Having waited ages for the new blog, life got in the way........



It has turned absolutely gorgeous here after the foggy, cold start. Very warm - lunch in the garden weather. Unfortunately, I then had to work indoors - a job application required some tweaking of my CV. All done now, so can go and play outside. Just need to decide whether I do weeding in the garden or plant tomatoes in the greenhouse........

#45 Deebee... I had a call like your husband had, a few weeks ago telling me that I had a problem with my computer and how he could help me and just needed my credit card details, so I let him ramble on for a while then said to him that I didn't own a computer and he put the phone down!



One day when I was staying with my sister and her husband, their phone went and my brother-in-law, who loves a laugh, picked it up and I then heard him say "You'll have to speak to my wife... I'll go and get her. In the meantime I'm putting you on hold" and he laid the phone beside the radio in the kitchen that was turned on.



After a short while, he picked up the phone and said "Sorry to keep you waiting, I'm still trying to find my wife" and the next time he went back to the phone, the caller had gone!



What I sometimes do if a double-glazing or kitchen person etc rings up, is to say "Hang on a moment, I'll go and get my husband" and I leave the phone on the table or walk round with it in my pocket until they have given up!

I'm in awe of of Bill "Ken Barlow" Roache ................. the endeavour! He must have left no stone unturned to find 1000 women THAT stupid!

Dull start here but I've just been watching two green woodpeckers do an amazing head bopping courtship (?) dance around my garden. Great stuff.



I'm sure that the lovely Matt from BAIU (*waves*) said that the boffins would have the boxes banished by now? They are still plaguing me. I thought maybe that is why it is so quiet in these parts.
