And the winner is...
Another fine week dawns....morning to all. A somewhat mixed weekend really. The bad side was a very public one and I'd really rather not talk about it. If that's ok with you. I'll be avoiding all reds today and fortunately a music network has other more important issues to concern itself with.
Anyway, it's only a game.
Apparently.
Matt might be slightly more difficult to restrain but his red is different to a London red but THAT'S ENOUGH FOOTBALL ANYWAY.
Took child 3 to The Muppets last night. He'd seen it before but was prepared to humour me and go again. I loved the TV series and still have the original album somewhere. I've always struggled to get used to any voices other than Jim Henson and Frank Oz for the Kermit, Fozzie and co. But it's a delightful film which may well be a kids film that's enjoyed more by nostalgic parents. And now 'Man or a Muppet' wins the Oscar for best song and child 3 is asking me if I prefer Swedish Chef or Sam The Eagle. My Fozzie/Douglas Hurd impression may live on a little longer.
Today we welcome Monty Halls to the show. Fresh from his 'Reef' show, the marine biologist/action-man Attenborough fronts "The Fisherman's Apprentice". Monty lived and worked as a Cornish small boat fisherman. It's one of those worlds that we are in danger of losing and Monty will explain all tonight.
And oldies please for THE OSCARS. The usual shenanigans overnight saw The Artist, Hugo and Meryl Streep take the headlines. Your musical interpretations and selections welcome.
Have an energy-filled and compliment-heavy Monday. See you after 5.

I saw a clip on there from 'A dangerous method' which he stars in with Keira Knightly...has nobody noticed (in the stylee of the Emperor's New Clothes') that she is WASTING AWAY...it is cr*p for her to say, as she does regularly, that she is eating normally - in her early film role in 'The Hole' she had to bear her top half - normal womanly breasts...come Pride and Prejudice, she is as flat as a pancake...normally, breast development is the other way around!!
As mother of a 13 year old girl, I worry that women who look like her are paraded in the press and in films and regarded as looking normal...

I tried for ages to post earlier and gave up and went out to pull out lots of fast-growing weeds in between my pretty spring flowers, then forked around in the soil to freshen it up.
I just caught Billie and Mandy's names for the current song Simon is playing.... and there were others I missed, so well done everyone!

Ah well, it's usually appreciated by my neighbour and friends who can't be bothered making it for themselves!

We went out for a drive and lunch out in the Peak District, it was lovely, if rainy! We stopped at the Chatsworth House Farm shop, and went in their restaurant, and very nice it was too. I had Chatsworth beef stew and dumplings, and it was very tasty, highly recommended.

No rain here - I really can't remember the last time. 2012 has been very dry. At this rate the Olympic canoeing will have to be in the swimming pool.
The marmalade man made me chuckle. I imagined he had whiskers and wore a tweed jacket.
Right, must stop prattling on, and go and do some fatherly duties.

It has been very dry so far, which will probably mean we'll be up to our necks in flood water over the summer... Some places are already in drought though, quite worrying actually :-S

I did feel a bit guilty, because we could see the cows grazing from the restaurant window... But if you're going to be a meat-eater, you have to live with the reality of where your food comes from, and how it gets to your plate.
I think Black and White was in reference to The Artist being a black and white film... The oldies were a bit predictable today, I thought, and only four instead of the usual five. That's the way the cookie crumbles though, sometimes.
