Loved the cheese on toast last night. You're right about 6 o'clock on Sunday night, especially at this time of year. Parents can't be a**ed to cook, but you need something to stop the munchies kicking in later. A favourite in the Good household is "Dad's quick pizzas" - toasted bagels, spread a bit of pasta sauce from a jar (or chutney), grated cheese, under the grill, and Bob's your uncle. Instant satisfaction on a plate. Or just in your fingers, whatever takes your fancy.

My Dad served in WW2 (he was born in 1926 so just old enough). He was in the Navy, they mainly searched for unexploded mines on the seabed. He'd left the Navy by the time I came along, but I remember him telling some pretty hair-raising tales.

RE Sunday nights tea - ours was always 'French toast' or 'Eggy Bread' depending on where you come from; bread sliced, (usually stale, with mould cut off edges - my mother is Scottish to the core, and a war baby) dipped & soaked in a beated egg, then fried and served with 'Sauce de tomates' or 'tomato sauce', again, depending where you come from.

All after a swim at Tudor Grange swimming pool - remember it well...

#72. Dearest Threesome, I was about to point you in the direction of #154 yesterday, but seeing as I had to go back there in order to find the number, it was just as easy to C&P, thus...



The other day, I suggested a Half Man Half Biscuit Song, and other bloggers liked the idea, despite the fact that it probably had no more than a snowball in hells chance of being played, and this got me to wondering.



What is this blogs favourite band/artist?



Now, I appreciate the fact that if you were to be asked to list your top 10 bands on one day, the following day that list might be somewhat different.



Here is my idea. We each compile a list of our top FIVE favourite bands, singers etc. These artistes will be numbered 1, for your absolute fave to 5. You see. Each item on the list will score points, with 5 points awarded to the band/singer in 1st position, down to 1 point for the 5th. However, because you might want to change your mind, you can have 5 lists. You don't have to, but if you do have more than one list, each list MUST be different from the others you choose. It could be the same bands in a different order,or entirely different. But the scores will be cumulative. The opportunity to post your lists will remain open for a week, and at the end of that period, each band/singers scores will be added up, and the one with the highest score will be THE BLOGS FAVOURITE BAND. Whaddya think?



I think the beast will be released on Monday, at which time it's terms of parole shall be re-stated.

I'm guessing my LastFM scrobble list might provide a clue to my top 5. Or then again, as I've been on random play a lot lately, it might just biased by the order in which I've been ripping CDs. Porcupine Tree possibly articially high in the list as they were all sitting in a pile close to hand when I started :-)
