Glad the party was a hassle free success...what a mature and sensible child (oops sorry Adult) you have!



I have been waiting for this as I cannot get going at work as I feel once blogged my toons everything is worthwhile attacking full force including the guys at Sparring much later....speaking of which i'm all pumped up from a 3rd place victory yesterday ..I had three fights in my category and gave all three girlies ( in their late teens and early twenties a blumming good fight!) Including only beating the current WKA world champion only by 2 - 1!



Finally got chance to see "The Inbetweeners" movie on Saturday and I must say I howled...bout on par with the Full Monty..however I have not seen it 5 times yet!!!

And even better a clever person re-mastered the "HD" stream copy from the BBC website to take out the sound of Patty Griffin's bangles (or whatever else it was that could be heard at this show and on some other recordings from the tour as well). So I have a nice sounding copy on my music server.

9/11 yesterday was the 19th anniversary of my dad's passing. I'm ashamed to say my mother mentioned it this morning and I'd forgotten. An example of how significant events can overshadow stuff.

#43 Saturday was a last night of the Proms event, I believe, with people like Katherine Jenkins warbling (who I would personally cross the road to avoid hearing) and Sunday was the R2 version of Proms in the park - which may be cheap to run, as all the gates, security, loos, stage etc are in place from Saturday (at least that's my take on it!) so p'raps the BBC as a whole picks up most of the bill - R2 electric proms would be a drain on the R2 budget, even tho we paid for tickets & it created a programme for them to air...

It's a 10 minute walk from the car park to the building where my meeting was this morning. And I'm only little...



I managed to tweet a few song suggestions earlier, but I've forgotten what they were... hopefully it will come back to me by 5.05 as I like to make a note of songs I've suggested that get played, mensh or no mensh.



Re the Hyde Park gigs - well I went to the Saturday one - Proms in the Park (see previous blog) and it was BRILLIANT. I'm sure the Sunday one was equally as good though - actually we were quite surprised that they were heavily promoting it while we were there so there were still tickets available at that late stage. Was quite tempted, but we decided in the end that two trips to London on consecutive days was a bit much. If they do a similar thing next year we might go - in fact, it would be quite nice to make a blog meet out of it...

From memory I think it was £25 or thereabouts, which was less than half the price of Kentish Town Forum gig from a couple of weeks earlier. So I guess you could argue they were subsidised by the Beeb and therefore cost the Radio 2 money.

Hmm, this blog was often the platform for quite a lot of inter-blogger-banter - but that seems to be happening on Twitter nowadays ... having recently 'come out' as a tweeter, I now realise just how much some of our ERSTWHILE STALWARTS OF BLOG FUN now interact away from the blogs - [also how many tweets Simon gets from bloggers!]

My! It's WILD and WINDY!

Simon, I give you folks in the UK credit since some of you actually stay awake to watch a football game that starts at 1:30 in the morning. What do you do tonight (tomorrow morning) with a game (Oakland vs. Denver) that won't end under after sunrise?

Thought it'd be a good day to get some washing done and dried outside as it turned out to be a nice bright afternoon. Slightly underestimated just how windy it was or maybe it was inadequate pegging on my part but just managed to save all sorts of things being blown into neighbours' gardens! Don't think I could have stood the embarrassment of going next door and uttering 'can I have my knickers back please'!
