Morning Simon....I do enjoy some rock, love Hendrix and Punk (an age thing!) and I've even had a mosh request played 'silver machine' Hawkwind. I just find the AC/DC school of rock a bit too errm well like rock!!

Soul is very unrepresented on BBC2 Trevour I know does a show but he tends to favour the funk and crossover style of soul, the regional stations do there bit with Motown and Northern shows....Steve White on BBC Sheffield and Russ Winstanley on BBC Lancashire both do fine shows...you might like to tune in one week? A soul slot would be fantastic even if only now and then on your show....:-)

Well I have to say I used to like a bit of rock, but I think 4 in a row is pushing a bit these days. I seem to be mellowing in my old age. Thoroughly enjoyed Radio 3 yesterday - found the classical music very calming. Was back to BBC Lincs this morning where I will return on the days I'm not in the mood for CLP's zany show.



PSL - it's brightening up in this part of The Shire but it was only 13 degrees when I arrived at work this morning. Brrr! However, the clouds are clearing and I can see blue sky, still looks a bit blowy tho'. Used my last sachet of soup to be had in a cup yesterday :(

#13 Why thank you Zoe .. lovely to be able to join in for an odd day ..



Last week I took a break from juggling two jobs for a break in the sun .. Mr from Eastleigh is self-employed and doesn't really do time-off, so it was a long-awaited break ..



I won't go over all the gory details here, but I spent the first 28 hours at Gatwick Airport, and the final 9 at Rhodes Airport .. the bit in the middle was wonderful, on a small island with no vehicles or travel reps, but the bits either end were not ..



Anyway, the good news is that the two master from Eastleighs coped very well in our absinthe, and we came home to a clean house stocked with essentials such as

bread and milk, with all their washing done and the bins emptied .. the garden and allotment look well watered with no human intervention ..



The boss of my Thursday job has given me today as a lieu day to sort out my issues with the holiday firm, hence the chance to blog .. so I will be pooping in and out between researching Regulation 261/2004 (on compensation for flight delays) and handing out my laundry ..

something strange has happened to the font size?? had to take my specs off as it looked gigantian!!!

The voice of Dr Mosh reigns supreme in my house at present [I'm listening at a more convenient time].

Noting some viewpoints in here [whilst celebrating our differences] I've nailed my Dr Mosh colours to the mast on several occasions - so I still say - 12 or so minutes out of 8 hours programming? Surely that's not too much to ask?



Anyhow - thanks Matt for playing the quality stuff. I've never been particulary picky or precious about the type of music I like - would never say I'm purely a fan of rock, or punk, or folk, or country, or new wave, or britpop, or soul, R&B, indie, metal, rap, reggae, ska, blues, C&W. jazz, classical, etc etc.

I'm just a fan of GOOD MUSIC - and you are playing the good stuff, and that's good enough for me.



And whilst I'm adopting the moral high ground - yes, LuciesMum #6 - the list of previous golf oldies is available for all to see - as are the two blogs which show the bloggers' requests on those days - but I'd rather not spoil everyone's fun so early in the day ...



Also adding a caring thought or two to those that are having a hard time at present. I know how you're feeling. It's a real treat for me to have the time to come in here - always makes me feel better.

Ooops a daisy, apologoes for being so remiss - happiest of happy birthdays Mrs M - hope you enjoyed breakfast in bed - not my kinda thing either. I drink a couple of pints of water before I get started on breakfast in the morning - muesli and toast / crumpets / muffins (English ones) / teacakes and a restorative mug of redbush tea - mmmmm yum. Can do fried stuff too.



Lovely to see you Alsion - how's the running going? I just moved up to the intermediate group (a new concept at our running club) and am quite enjoying it - we did 7 miles on Tuesday night - the old legs were a bit weary when we got back but I felt fab. i did about 4 miles Monday morning with a friend and we did another 3.5 this morning. Weight loss is encouraging :)

#59 - Scottish lasagne - is just stovies. We had plain old mince and tatties for tea one night last week and with the mince left over I made stovies. You fry an onion (optional - I didn't) then you layer up leftover mince and sliced potatoes (you can also add carrot and swede (what the Scots call turnip)), add some stock, cook 'til the potatoes are done and hey presto, presto hey - stovies - scrum-diddly-umptious. It's just 'cos the ingredients are layered that the boys and I call it Scottish lasagne.

Oooh sorry, meant to say, PSL, the Wolds are very pretty. the friend I'm doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks with and I were going to come over to the Wolds for a bit of a practice but we conquered Cross o' Cliff in Lincoln instead. If time permits, we'll try Steep Hill too. Another friend has a book of walks in the Wolds with suitable watering holes - sounds like fun - may give that a go before winter.

Little Buddy is now a gelding. He was a real poppet, the local anaesthetic seemed to put him right out! He snored like a baby, whilst GD assisted the vet. (All good practice for her. She has just passed her first year and wants to specialise in equine medicine.) A few carrots and a polo or two seem to have cheered him up a little. Will get some pics up soon.



Tortie, I start back at work next week, 4 days with Fridays off. Just trying to get everything up straight at home first.

When Simon get round to a football theme for the start of the season soon we should put plenty of requests in for -

#80 The pony is a joint pet for Mr Mcw and GD. Buddy will stay here with us, he is currently sharing the paddock with the chickens! We have two stables that will need clearing out. GD is sharing a flat (which has 5 double bedrooms!!) in London. However, in her third year they do move out to the other campus at Potters Bar which has livery there. But I expect he'll still stay here.I have got one photo on fb at the moment, but it was quite dark as it was taken at night. Daughter sat down on the grass in her pj's and the little fellow came over and sat down with her! Very sweet.

#82 Deebee, it is all to do with the animals height. A pony is generally 14.2 hands or under. Anything above this is considered horse. Our little chap is only about 13hh at the moment, and may probably make 14 hands (56 inches tall), but as GD is not terribly tall, he will make an ideal sized riding pony and also I think they are considering him as a driving pony with a cart!

Toots, well done on your recent running .. I took my trainers to Greece with me, primarily for a walk that I'd planned, but managed one 7.30am and one 8.30pm run .. very hot but they made me feel good ..

A massive moth has just flown into my mouth, and I've swallowed it. Yuk! One of the customers, whilst in gales of laughter at my discomforted choking, suggested that all I needed now was a 'nice Chianti and some fava beans'. What a wit!

And Simon reads out my moth based 3WT. Funny, really, that something like moth swallowing can get you a mensh on the radio. How I wish that fate, instead of delivering the moth to me, had instead proffered a lottery win. I am somewhat scared of moths at the best of times, and as far as I know, am completely fearless in the face of massive amounts of free cash. This is, however, only conjecture. I suspect that the moth would have preferred fate to have been kinder to me as well.
