When I have a personal trainer session my trainer always tells me to make sure that I have had 2 litres of water before I train then you should drink 1 litre for every hour of physical activity, thats 5 50ml water bottles before I train leaving 50ml to sip throughout the workout and boy oh boy am I a frequently visitor to the little girls room!!!

Didn't hear much of the show last night - took the younger boy to his performance and then stopped off and had an hour with an old friend I hadn't seen for a while. She was my very reliable babysitter and the loveliest lady. It's one of these friendships where we don't see each other for months but we just pick up from where we left off.

KatyMatey, love your 'menshed the menshees' - I too am always grateful for the stalwarts who are here every evening congratulating folks, as I rarely have the luxury of listening to the whole show. And the texters too. So thank you!



Toots - those kind of friends are lovely, aren't they. I'm still in touch with a pal I was at school with - we've actually known each other since we were 6. We can go years without speaking, yet when we do it's just as if we'd seen each other the previous week.

It's quiet on the blogs here at Cat_sitter towers because by an amazing co-incidence I have taken the day off to shampoo the lounge carpet with WATER! Step-daughter #2 coming over for a weekend with step-grand daughter, so bound to want her to crawl everywhere.

Interesting thing about people not looking how they sound, and funny how we get pictures in our head of what people should look like from their voice alone. I have always known what Simon looked like (thanks to his regular appearances on TotP etc in my youth) I can't really think of anyone I've been particularly surprised by, except maybe Johnnie Walker, who I took for a much younger man when I first started listening to him :/

Oh Deebee, I have a friend like that - we've known each other since we were 5, lost touch when we were in our late teens and got back in touch a few years ago. Likewise we can go months without chatting but when we do it's like it was just yesterday we last saw each other. We've vowed never to lose touch again.



I second what Deebs says to Julia40. Julia, I read Simon's blog to see what the theme is then I go off and have a think and come back with any suggestions before I catch up on blogpoppet posts. If there's a duplication it doesn't really matter as we're all happy to share :)

We have had some sad news this morning, regarding a family member who has been battling bowel cancer on and off for years. It seems it is just a matter of time now, so we are planning to travel down south to see him, for what will probably be the last time, on Monday :(

It's the mister's cousin, although he has always been more like a big brother to him, they have always been very close. He is a lovely guy, and it is so very sad. We all knew what was coming, but he has fought so hard and for so long, it all seems so bitterly unfair. But then things like this aren't fair, are they? If they were we wouldn't keep losing wonderful people to this terrible illness.



It is also made all the worse because of my MIL dying from stomach cancer in January. The family haven't had chance to get over that before being hit with this, not that it would have made the loss any more bearable either way.



I am a right depressing old b*gger today! So I think I'll go and do something to take my mind off it all for a bit.

Whilst CLP has been on his hols, I've had the MP3 playing in a morning and yesterday it was Neil Diamond - Jazz Singer - fab album.



Akshelly, I've taken the opportunity during CLP's absence to retune my radio and try out the other BBC stations. Radio Lincs was my accompaniment to and from work on Monday, yesterday it was Radio 4's turn and this morning I had Radio 3 on. I've really enjoyed the variety. In fact, on my way to running club last night, I tuned to Radio 4 and caught The Archers - I think I could get hooked. i won't be tuning to Radio 1 in a morning as I'm not overly keen on the other Chris - he's just not my cuppa tea but that's probably because I fall well outwith his demographic. The older boy thinks CM is fab.

#83 - it's so easy to wallow Zoe but it has to be said you have good reason. It's difficult to be upbeat when life is hard. My happy place after the ex left was work. My boss said he looked forward to seeing my happy smiling face in a morning, little did he know I was just so happy to be out of the house and away from all the horridness.



Gee whizz, my boss will be lucky to have any fingers left the way he's chomping his way through a bag of cheese 'n' onion. May have to have a 'head' count to make sure he hasn't lost any in the last minute or so.
