I too remember you playing Amy Grant back in the day...I downloaded said tune on I tunes. Your son should be dead proud of the time he was born.....as the main man Bryan Adams was number one with that very memorable tune on the day he came into the world and lasted until 26th October 1991 ...shame he could not make it for a 17th week for 3 more days as he would have been number one on my birthday. Istill remember all through the summer when the charts were on and number 2 was reached and I had all fingers and toes crossed and when I hear the 1st few bars of "Im too sexy" I was ecstatic ...my hero had done it again!!!



Finally hope mini mayo had a fab birthday.

Thanks for all the enquiries as to our new four legged friend. He seems to be settling in well. A beautiful piebald cob who is only two years old. Daughter and husband are thrilled with him, GD (aged 19 1/2!) crept out last night in her pj's, and sat near him, he came over and lay down beside her. I have put a pic on fb. Very sweet. He might not be quite so happy on Thursday when the vet is coming to take away his stallion status!



I am currently 'confined to barracks' whilst waiting for the rest of the kitchen cupboards to be delivered.



Thinking of Katy and her family on what must be a difficult day for them.

Talking of children's birthday parties. The most original birthday party I had was for the younger boy who had an obsession with fire engines. I arranged for him and some of his little pals to visit the local fire station; they had an absolute ball (one parent was particularly jealous!?!). They had a tour round the station and were shown where they practise putting out fires. The children got to use the hoses, put on some of the kit (boots and helmets) and had a little ride in a fire engine (appliance I think it's called these days). Such fun and no coloured hanky, extra large feet or red nose in sight.

The older boy and I are at the younger boy's school play tonight - Cinderella Rockerfella - the younger boy is a Messenger and has a line to say!?! How nerve wracking. The play is on again tomorrow evening and, for the first time ever, I have entrusted the older boy with the the collection of the younger boy as I will be at running club when the play finishes. Feeling quite nervous about that too.

I liked Rufus Wainwright in last weeks song writing programme on BBC 2, nit got around to watching this weeks yet. I think he has a lovely voice, I like stuff that is a bit off-beat and unique, so look forward to hearing him on the show tonight.

Anyways... I have a Joanna Lumley story. Not much of one, granted - but I have seen her in 'real life', although I didn't actually meet her. It was at the recording of the pilot for a TV show starring Richard Hammond, which never got aired, and she was one of the guests, alongside Sarah Beeny (who was heavily pregnant at the time) and Ed Byrne. My friends and I were in the second row, so we got a good look at Ms Lumley and I have to say that TV makeup aside she looked pretty fine for her age! Highlights were Richard flirting outrageously with her (and donning a 'Purdy wig', the memory of which makes me shudder even now), and a discussion on how to walk in high heels with a book balanced on your head! Looking back, it would have made a rubbish TV show but it was quite entertaining at the time.
