I am currenty in a parallel universe on the iThingy listening to Rebecca reporting rush hour traffic jams on the M25, kedgeree being served, etc etc. All very discombobulating.



Could I add a few words of support to MTF's request for Twilight? One of the homework themes this week was about the length of a year, and the time it takes for the earth to revolve on its axis etc etc etc. Which got me thinking about sunset and longer days ahead. The official sunset time in London tonight is 17.08. Meaning that just as

the ARFO is playing, the sun will be setting over Broadcasting House, so it would indeed be splednid to celebrate the lengthening day, while WATCHING the twilight and LISTENING to Twilight.



Phew!



If that doesn't work to convince the New NYM, then could I please request

Its probably just me.



I poop the i player on when I am starting to cook the roast on a Sunday. CLPs Friday morning show is usually what I listen to.



However, you lose all track of real time, as its starts at 6.30 a.m and in real terms, the dinner should be ready by the 9 a.m news.



For some reason, no matter how hard I try, the end of the show always appears before I finally dish up!!

I hope everyone is fine and dandy this grey and damp day!



I have been down an old tin mine in Wales, on a school trip that is, and very educational it was too! I have also been down a simulation of a working coal mine, and crawled through a pitch black tunnel!! I am from South Yorkshire and Orgreave is not far from me, so I remember the miners strikes quite well.



There have been some fine choices already for the ARFO, but after the meaning of HOIB was explained to be yesterday, and I considered my own record collection, past and present! I WANT CHEESE!!



In acknowledgement that my record collection once contained a copy of 'Donald Where's Your Troosers?' by Andy Stewart (Due in no small part to the encouragement of a certain former BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show DJ... ;) ) I embrace the cheese!! I even once owned a copy of 'Shaddap Your Face' by Joe Dolce, and thereby possibly, and maybe single-handedly, keeping Ultravox and Vienna off the top spot.



So today, I want a song I can shake it all loose to, and sing at the top of my voice to...Yes, I want YMCA by THE VILLAGE PEOPLE!!! :D

#20 LOL Mo! No, no tweeting today. It's a kind of personal rule of mine. The rest of the week I tweet and blog the same song suggestions, but ARF is different - in the unlikely event that my song gets chosen I want it to be chalked up as a blog mensh!

Broke news to the Family about my plans for Kedgeree over the weekend. Met with a distinct lack of enthusiasm (as expected) Eldest boy says it sounds like a name for Dog Food!



Fingets crossed it turns out OK.



Mist has cleared in my bit of South Yorkshire, although it is still a grey day.



Hubby once mooted a trip to the Coal Mining Museum with the boys but just the IDEA of travelling hundereds of metres underground had me breaking out in a cold sweat. Up until then, I didn't have myself pegged as claustrophobic. Good Luck Simon!

#44 Mrs Moog - I have fond memories of Simon's Radio 1 show. In those days the Confessions used to be on at 8.45, which was about when I arrived for work. So I'd be sitting in my car in the office car park listening to them, and quite often I'd see colleagues in their cars doing exactly the same thing!
