Hi all!



A quick in and out from me (wholly un-apt, considering today's subject) to tell you about my evening yesterday (which is relevant to today's show). I was standing around 10 feet away from Nicky Wire and the rest of the Manics during the recording of tonight's Later With Jools Holland. Take a look at 10pm tonight, and the longer show on Friday night. You may see me singing along to the manics (you can;t really miss me - 6' 4", baldy head, glasses, around a foot above everyone else around me!). The Manics blew everyone else away. such was the nature of their set. Other stars included Mark Ronson, Phil Collins, Herb Alpert and The Klaxons. Nicky Wire rocks!



Anyway, can;t think of any songs that haven't been chosen, so will second all of them!



Right, back to meetings. Byeee!

My son went back to Uni on Monday, and my daughter goes at the end of this month. I dread to think of the food my son eats whilst away, but my daughter is quite a competent cook! My nephew survived on a diet of rice and barbecue sauce!! I seem to remember apple and marmite sandwiches- alot healthier!

Katy, Tooth Fairies dont get time off for anything!!



Nope, just got to work out how to get car back from garage which is about 8 miles away, then bomb around the county and get back in time for an awards ceremony which we have been invited to attend at GDs previous school.



I make a lovely preserve which is called Pensylvanian Apple Butter, it was introduced by the Dutch settlers and is lush, lots of spices and cider and just cooked and cooked.



Its similar to the yummy Jersey black butter, but more brown!



Off to try out my hitch hiking skills.



Its a hard knock life.

Madchick - just before my two gals went off to Uni - I bought them each a wicker hamper and over the weeks every time I went food shopping, added all the combinations of stock cubes, gravy mixes, marinade/dipping sauces, mixed herbs/spices, packet mixes for chilli etc, pasta sauces, pestos, curry paste mixes, oils, vinegars etc. It looked really tempting when full. They both said it inspired them to 'create' decent dishes out of basic food.

When I went to uni many many moons ago, I had no idea how to cook. Fortunately, my flat mate was doing a Hotel & Catering course so he did most of the cooking. Until he went on strike and said I had to do my bit. One meal of burnt fish fingers later and he relented but taught me the basics. Cooking is now my passion! Wish my Mum had done me a Katy-style hamper though!
