Flowers for you all
Morning to all Drivetime Bloggers. Cold progressing, moving south, moderate, decreasing force 4, imminent. Thank you for your concern. If I did get it from Bill Bailey, I could have given it to Tony Blair who could have given it to Bill Clinton yesterday. The former President of the USA did sound a bit phlegmy. The power of Radio 2 crosses many boundaries.
Today we welcome Brandon Flowers to our show. The Killers frontman has a solo album and a Number 1 to boot. I have never met him before but find him intriguing and his music seems to appeal to the Radio 1 crowd as well as us more mature types. Brandon with us from 6.
And oldies today inspired by this new show on BBC1 tonight 'The Young Ones'. It's an experiment to discover if ageing is a state of mind. 'If you go back into an atmosphere when you were in your heyday, if you truly believe it, your mind and body will follow', says producer Michael Mosley. And the participants say it works! Hooray! So let's do FEELING YOUNG. I thought about ageing but FEELING YOUNG seems much better. By 7 o'clock we'll all be 30 again.
Your top youthful ideas below please! See you at 5.05...

Can you take me back?
Can you take me back where I came from?

#22 that was the first single I bought, PSL. I obviously bought it about 20 years before I was actually born...
The ageing thing does give me a bit of a problem, I have to say. I've reached the stage now where I mumble slightly if I have to give my age or date of birth. But then I look at women who are slightly (but not much) older than me - Dawn French, Madonna, Kim Cattrall, who still manage to look gorgeous, and think - well, maybe I'm not quite over the hill yet. And then I get out of bed in the morning and look in the mirror... Facelift, anyone?

Good choices today so far. I can't think of any better than those already suggested so I will abstain from the race for a mensh today (unless inspiration strikes which is unlikely).
I like the sound of the telly prog. I feel the same as I did when I was 16 - I just creak more, move slower and the bits that used to be pert can now be moved in a wheelbarrow. However, I wear the grey hairs with pride - each one was earned - and I don't have wrinkles, I have laughter lines. A smile is the best face lift!

There's an awful lot of cold bugs about at the mo. The elderGB has 'Portuguese man flu'. He caught cold from his mate who has just returned from living in Portugal. He's struggling manfully on tho' so it makes all those times of booting him out the door when he was younger saying, it's just a cold, when all I wanted to do was keep him home, letting him watch the tv and drink warmed lemonade, seem worthwhile. Fingets crossed I have fashioned a man who can deal with a cold without behaving like he has triple pneumonia.
Well that's it - trough-time over.
Hoping to catch up again soonly.
