And the Oscar goes to...
Well now. Hope you enjoyed Carlos Santana last night. He didn't always speak in a style to which we may accustomed but frankly, if you are Carlos Santana, you can speak any old way you like. And he had a very nice ipad cover which you can only buy in China he tells me.
Cold/cough thing a tad better but will try not to choke up during the confession again. It spoils the dramatic flow really don't you think?
Now after 6 today, how about Oscar-winning actor Tim Robbins? All 6'5' of him, which makes him the tallest person ever to win an Oscar I believe. The 'Shawshank' and 'Mystic River' star has, aged 51, decided to go make an album. And then form a band. And then tour. You can catch him and The Rogues Gallery Band tonight.
And tunes today please for the MIDDLE AGED. Not the middle ages which would be fun sometime, but we read that the MIDDLE AGED get mid-life blues and the full blown mid-life crisis much earlier (35-48 would you believe). So everything to do with being MIDDLE AGED will be fine. If you're in it, past it or not reached it, you know what to do...
Have a great Wednesday.
See you at 5.05

Good suggestions so far folks!
I am concerned. If middle age runs to age 48, does old age start at age 48 + 1 day? If that is the case, I only have 6 months left to fit in a mid-life crisis and to be honest, I just don't have the time for one. But, if I don't have one, will I feel the lack later? Will I be shunned by other old-agers for denying myself an opportunity to wear a short leather skirt, run off with a 17 year old and generally misbehave whilst looking like a piece of mutton? I see this as a very real problem and, blogpoppets, your guidance would be welcome. I am very depressed now...........

Apologoes for lateness of arrival - it's been busy at the grindstone today.
Can't think of a suitable song suggestion but would love to second PoS's suggestion of These are the Days of Our Life by Queen.
Well going by the calculations, I have 14 months left to fit in a mid-life crisis but, as with A-G, I really don't have time for it. Plus, my legs in a leather mini-skirt!?! Not attractive - don't want to scare old grannies and babies (or PoS for that matter). Certainly couldn't be doing with a 17 year old either. Having a 16 year old son is enough to put me off the younger chap, thank you.
Deevski - sorry I missed you yesterday, Hon. I hope you're having a better day today.
A-G - (from the previous blog) - the doily was a special treat for being so lovely yourself :).
I didn't hear any of the show last night - bit of a domestic drama going on involving the youngerGB, a great deal of stupidity on his part and a phone call from a 'concerned' (possibly gloating but couldn't be sure) parent. Suffice to say he's grounded.
Mega congrats on the hat-trick BP - well done.

On a different note, I'm a bit confused about how the Book Club is going to work. Simon said the other evening that thousands of people had applied. Are they going to whittle that down to a more reasonable number, and if so how on earth will they do it, other than drawing names out of hats? Or are they going to ask different people to review each book? And what if in a few months or a year someone from the planet Bookreader comes down to Earth and hears Drivetime for the first time - will they be able to join the book club, or is it 'join now or forever hold your peace' sort of thing? Further clarification required please, either on the show or the website. Thanks! X

My theory is that as Simon is such a cool hip dude, he only reads out posts from people with "real" names and daft ones like Deevskiboo and NicRolastic get overlooked as he would sound daft saying them (i recall he giglled the first time he name checked you tho bab!)
Will catch up on the 81 posts I missed during the afternoon but would guess that every song title I can think of has already been suggested anyhoooooo.

I've had songs chosen that I've not suggested till around this time. Although in fairness it must be quite hard for them sometimes to pick out the songs from all our wafflings - lovely though said wafflings are!
Katy - thank you for your lovely reply to my FB message. I'll reply to your reply later on.

If I may be so bold - to quote you:
".. but we read that the MIDDLE AGED get mid-life blues and the full blown mid-life crisis much earlier (35-48 would you believe)..."
Being a nickety-pickety Market Research Analyst, I would appreciate your source for this statement ... mainly because I suspect the sample used were all over-dramatic, live-life-like-a-soap-opera 35 to 48 year olds.
Thanks. Still love the show.
Kind regards from a very youthful Baby Boomer
