No peeping
I'm sitting at a computer that I know contains my daughter's GCSE results. I can see them sitting there. But she doesn't want to know about them, she wants to go into school for a bit of group therapy. So I will just sit here and blog away and pretend it's just a normal day. Those Student Essential types are waiting to help with advice if you need any or know someone who does. I just need patience, I'm not sure if they can help with that.
Top marks, A star grades etc to The Script who played last night on the show. They really are heading for the big time and you can see both their songs here. "Babylon" was a good choice of cover boys!
That man Gary Lineker turns up today. He's written his account of the World Cup Finals and if you want to relive the whole miserable experience, this is the book for you.
And oldies? Well let's go for career advice. As the final exam results of the summer kick in, everyone's after it or offering it. So put all your experience into a song title of note and leave it below.
Meantime, I'll just wait by this computer a little longer...

Thank you for all your congratulations - I'll pass them on. thank you too for sharing stories about your Dads. My Dad was a very young 48. He knew my sister's (now) husband but didn't meet my ex (thankfully - he'd have strung him up by the wotsits) but saddest of all he didn't meet the GBs. I've taken some time to step back a bit lately and have noticed just how totally gorgeous the elder GB is - he was just so lovely to someone recently - it was worth more than all the A*s in the world.
G_C - any news on your GD (gorgeous daughter)? I hope she's happy with her results.
Ollie of Eastleigh - what an achievement, well done young sir. The elder GB had a fair mix of A*s and As with a B thrown in to keep him grounded. Likewise, Alison, he has surpassed his father's and my own academic achievements. EGB takes his brains from my dad. What made it all the more poignant this morning, EGB is the first grandchild to follow in my Dad's footsteps - he wants to be an engineer.
MTF - hearty congrats to your lad too - the 35 mile round trip was worth it then. I bet the first 17.5 miles were the longest.
#21 - Loving the tune by Rumer - her voice is amazing.

#83 #84 I don't listen to the radio much at the weekends - I tend to stick to my podcasts and music. I'm quite enjoying Patrick Kielty, but I won't go out of my way to listen to him - only if I'm in the car and he happens to be on.

Best Saturday afternoon listening was the halcyon days of Rock On followed by Fluff and then In Concert on R1. Nothing can touch that afternoon line up.

It may be the last photograph to be taken tho', the smug little so and so rang up to tell me he'd just realised he was more qualified than me in everything now. Will be tuned in at 5.05 - perhaps in the kitchen, perhaps pounding the streets in a pre-treat exercise frenzy - I'm taking the night off running club in honour of EGB's results.

#96 Gaily, Simon's earlier tweet suggested that she was pleased. So good results all round!
