Just stick to The Script...
I am writing this from the heart of the maelstrom. A fierce storm has been blowing the world around most of the night (so it seems to me) and I'm wondering if there might be a ferry to take me down the A12. I'll be relying on the good services of Lynn Bowles and Sally B more than ever.
One thing of note over the weekend. With relentless focus (in other words, ignoring everyone else) I finally finished that monster of a book I was blogging about on Friday. 'Under the Dome' by Stephen King is 1,074 pages long and has been hauled around by my weary bones all summer. It has been my entire walk on luggage. And now I am leaving it behind. Something lighter next time I believe. It was great fun (in a death and misery kind of way) and essentially, a vast tract against elected mayors. And local politicians in general.
Today we can offer you The Script playing live after 6. I met them at Maida Vale a couple of years back doing some live songs for Radio 2. They were hoping for big things from their debut album back in '08 and so it came to pass. It went to number 1 and they have since opened for Paul McCartney, Take That and U2. So that'll be ok really. New album is called 'Science and Faith' and hear them live after 6 today.
And songs please for the return of X Factor. You know you want to. It returned on Saturday night and low and behold, it's in all the papers again. No X Factor hits however, if that's ok. In the box below, ta.
See you at 5.05.

X Factor, eh? Wasn't it dreadful?! Whoever picks the 'hopefuls' and creates a story around them only to see them fail miserably when they get on stage, needs their head examining. Where were all the 'yes' contestants?

Deebee - re: your Mum's impending op - my sister worked for an orthopaedic surgeon and he told her of this wee old lady who had been having a hip replacement under sedation - quote of the day as he was busy doing a bit of sawing "My it's busy in here today, isn't it? Are you having some work done, dear?" Bless her, she had no idea and needless to say the surgeon didn't enlighten her.
I was otherwise occupied yesterday - having a bit of an adrenalin frenzy with the the boys and some friends at Alton Towers (other theme parks and rides...) - what a blast. It was our first time ever and we thoroughly enjoyed it - we got on 13, Oblivion, Nemesis, Duel, Air and some of the water rides. The boys are suitably impressed with their mother.

Thanks for accepting my friend request MissP. I'm a bit relieved if I'm honest, as I wasn't 100% sure it was you - although you did give away your 'real' first name on Friday's blog so I thought I'd chance it anyway!

The single candle version looks great Katy!
Deebee - I had posted on the "your real name" on the Blogpoppets page on FB but good detective work on your part!
I am thinking of changing my blog name. After Friday's love-in, I don't think I need to be so formal! Will think on it.

So, now we have a Hat of Inappropriate Bloggetry, amendable for various other purposes/occasions, an octopus, (*may not need that one again very much, but he has been a great help in many areas*), a celebratory wave, even better celebratory cakes (my fave is the cup cake), and a creative genius on our hands.
So, if you are taking orders, I'd quite like a coat, for those 'I'll get my coat' moments. And a fridge foe Spikes P.G. Probably a tough one, that. Any takers?
*Has the octopus been the victim of a little light bloggy vivisection. Poor thing*

PoS - don't look to me for creating a coat or a fridge - I'll be the one in the kitchen being practical, making tea / coffee, keeping everyone going with biscuits and clearing up afterwards - you could say the kitchen is my comfort zone, especially when the washing machine is on - makes me feel like I'm being really busy and achieving loads. :)

The 'fridge' has been done - unintentionally! I posted a celebratory 'thingy' for Spike a couple of weeks back, and he thought it was a fridge, so he said thank you very much, filled it with Pinot Grigio, and hasn't looked back since ...
I tried to knit a coat - turned out wrong. Will try harder next time. A song would help ...

#94 The "you gotta go sometime" is strangely apposite for the X Factor feem. Cheerful little ditty.
