Never again (again)
Greetings to all bloggers old and new, here we are again for another week. Hope the (bank holiday) weekend was a good one. Mine was spent camping in Cheltenham at the Greenbelt festival. The festival bit was good, the camping bit was not. The company was excellent, the tent was spacious but the Sauvignon Blanc was the right temperature. About 4 degrees. I'm sure if you are a polar explorer this is a weedy complaint but lying in a field as the condensation starts to ice over and the 4 layers of clothing you are wearing prove ineffectual is not really a fun thing to do. And I don't want to do it again. Ever. But when child 3 insists, I know I'll give in. Just the one more time then...
Back at 5 then, with some live tunes from the very talented Lissie. Her album "Catching a Tiger" is very fine and she has been getting great reviews for her gigs here. She's actually from California but spends a lot of time over here. If her contribution to the Great British Songbook is what I think it is, eyebrows will be raised, heads will turn and breaths held. 'She's not really going to try that is she?' 'Good Heavens she is!" and so on. Then again she might have changed her mind. Find out tonight!
And oldies today to say goodbye to "The Bill" which bows out tonight. After 27 years and 24,000 episodes it's the least we can do. Bill Oldies and not Bill Oddies just to be clear.
See you at 5.05.

I was the hare for last nights run, so checked it out on Friday, I ran the route I'd planned on paper, which turned out to be a bit too far, but that's why it's worth checking it first. Also found out about the overgrown stiles. Laid the trail with flour on Saturday, including false routes to slow the fast runners down (did this as a walk with Mr from Eastleigh). Then ran it last night. It was a beautiful evening, a good turn-out for a Bank Holiday and we finished with a ploughman's in a country inn. Who could ask for more?
Out with the Ladies Wot Run on Weds for our weekly 5 miler, cross county at this time of year. We've been doing it for eight years now, and it sets the routine of our week. One of our number is off to Spain for the next few weeks, but we'll still meet at her house while she's away.

It didn't stop me from being nearly last, AGAIN, tho'. One of the local athletics clubs has done a series of 5k runs on the last Wednesday of the month during the summer. I'm not too sure what went on before I got to this point in the dream but this is the bit that stood out for me - I was on a bus going somewhere or other with some fellow blogpoppets when the marvellous Mr Mayo approached me and said a few words (don't ask me what). I nodded my acknowledgement but when I tried to introduce myself I couldn't speak as the pastry from the sausage roll (or it may have been a pork pie) I had been eating was sticking to my teeth and every time I tried to say 'I'm GailyB from the blog' I sprayed crumbs everywhere. The aforementioned MMM smiled sweetly, pretending not to notice my dilemma, and said 'Aah yes Hayley'. I tried again to enlighten him but to no avail and thankfully that's where the dream ended with me wondering what the MMM must have thought. Anyone like to interpret that? Lissie, yes Simon that was certainly surprise choice for the Great British Songbook, but right in a couple of ways.. (in my humble opinion) it is one of the Great British Songs Have heard many a version murdered by LZ wannabees
But Lissie and her musicians did it justice to say the least, and was a very fine performance

I loved Lissie doing Stairway to Heaven.
#25 PSL - not only are there only about 11-12 songs most evenings (depending on whether the guest is a singer/group or not), but only 4-6 of those are from the days feem.
And it seems to be rare for none of those to come from here, so we don't do badly.

Simon chose to play a "The Beat" song. But much cleverer than my choice "The Beat" by The Look.
It was "Can't get used to losing you" - saying goodbye to The Bill - by The Beat. So clever!
I missed who submitted it. Maybe from Twitter. Is that "The other side"?
Also what's CLC?
I'm not broken. I'll still choose it for my ARF. Any seconders?
It's been lovely here on Anglesey.
Night Night.
