Camping it up
I blog this morning while watching the great pictures from Cornwall where Chris is doing his show today. There's nothing quite like the look of campers who have got up early. It's a rumpled, crumpled look. Too early for brushing hair. Too early for washing. It says canvas, anorak and dampness. And having a ball.
The lack of rain also means we are all automatically thrilled. The last week has been so dismal in some parts that we will pleased this weekend if it doesn't snow. The crowd with Chris look strangely familiar too. I'm sure I recognise some faces from the St Ives roadshow in 1990. I'm thinking of getting out my roadshow shorts again for one more spin around the block.
Well meantime we have an All Request Friday to contemplate. Top songs, top calls and texts from frustrated motorway dwellers who wont make it to the pub in time. Plus that first song chosen by you! Set that bar as high as it will go.
Enjoy your Friday, see you at 5.05.

I even had to dash back to my car, leaving a client with the feeble excuse that I was expecting an important call!!
In fact, I was relieved when I heard once again that it wasn't my ARF.
Seriously, if and its a very big IF, it were ever chosen, I dont think I could cope!
I am content with pooping along every friday to post the same old same old.
Its what I do and it pleases me.

I was watching HFW last night trying to get the good people of Devon to eat tripe. Even with all the lovely ingredients he added to it, I don't think I could have risen to the challenge. I take it that you were looking at him through a glass of scrumpy or two?? ;-)

I felt your pain today, ie the mensh.
I had to cancel my dental appt.
Prolonging the agony!
I am just praying now for a trouble free B/H, yikes.

I decided that I couldn't go on over the weekend with it, especially as we are going up to the Lake District on Tuesday for a few days. My dentist saw me within the hour and one medicated filling later,(and possibly a few glasses of pinot grigio later have helped!) I'm not quite so grouchy! So make sure you get yours sorted, I'd much rather go to the dentist anyday than suffer in silence. I think that they are far less scary than when I used to go as a child and they gave you a filling as a matter of course.

I had to put off the appt, because I had a tiny crack in the corner of my mouth, which will not heal and will be frowned upon by the dentist.
Re booked for the 10th of the next month.
I think going to the dentist about 12 times a day has helped with my phobia.

You - bloggers - might not want to hear this - but you're a bit like a club for the big boys in Glee - you welcome new members and then you throw frozen fruties in their face - POS - and then you say no more about it and then you carry on regardless - all your acronyms (?)and
"in jokes" with all your esotericness.(Is there such a word?) Someone will tell me. I would like to say some lovely things about this blog. I really enjoy and would like to comment on the "late at night" blogs. Trulley, truley (can't spwll) I'm enjoying it.
Come on. Some big shot. Give me the OK.

Sometimes the banter goes way above my head, but you just have to ask outright if you don't understand what someone is rambling on about. Yes, I agree that POS must live in some parallel universe with some of his surreal comments, but that is part of his charm!! (hope he is not reading this??!!)
So welcome Billy, hope you continue to enjoy the blog, I have got to know some really fabulous people here.
Now, unfortunately, I must take my leave as I'm up early tomorrow.

The main thing to know about this blog is that we all found it because we enjoy Simon and his show. In fact we enjoy his show so much that we kept chatting for the three weeks he was away! Like you I started with the odd song suggestion and then added a little more. But some days I just suggest a song again. If you click on my name you'll see a history of my comments, and that I have a bit more time on my hands at this time of year due to the school summer holidays. The thing is we all dip in and out of it in-between doing the other things in our lives. As Madchickster said, alot of it goes over my head, and alot of it touches my funny bone, and some of it touches my heart. So come have a play with us. It's fun.

3 points
Point One: Come on in, the water's lovely.
Point Two: Resistance Is Futile.
Point Three. There is no third point, I lied about it. Perhaps I thought it would 'big me up' in some way, a self seeking engrandisement of my own opinions, to pretend that I had more points to make than I am actually capable of formulating simutaneously. Or, more pertinantly, perhaps it is just that I like the sound of my own blog 'voice' as it were, and cannot help but ramble on well beyond the point at which anyone wants to listen or read. Maybe, it is none of these things. It could be that there IS a third point, and one that is so beautifully formed, that if I were to make it here, no-one would believe that I was capable of such beauty, and in posting it, I would run the risk of being driven from this blog to the cries of 'Plagiarist plagiarist, get thee gone, and return no more'. So, no third point to be given then, for some reason. Or another.
Anyway, Billy Pepper, (Male or female, I wonder, the name being so close to Billy Piper, the one time squeeze of our neighbours leader),the actual thing is this. Pull up a chair, me owd, and make yourself comfortable. Everyone is welcome here. Let's be honest, they keep letting me back in, so that must be a sign of a very welcoming and friendly colletcive. Either that, or these people have very low standards!

It's just that some of us have been around since Simon started on Drivetime (or just after in my case) so we've got to know each other over the months. You'll find the more you post, the more involved you'll feel. And don't worry if you don't get a response to a post - you're not being ignored. I made that mistake once 'next door' on CLP's blog.
I'm sitting here on the boat waiting for our friends to arrive, and it's a lovely sunny day here in Ipswich. I'll try to poop by later (from the poop deck...) but if not, hope you all have a great weekend.
