Sinfield: Don't write off Rhinos
Kevin Sinfield takes on the St Helens defence
Sinfield says the Leeds camp is united
Kevin Sinfield has hit back at the doom-mongers who claim Leeds are a spent force this season.

The Rhinos loose-forward has also leapt to the defence of team-mate Ben Walker, who has come under fire following a dip in form.

"The press are certainly writing Leeds off and talking about disruption in the camp and players not getting on," Sinfield told BBC Sport Online.

We can do a lot of damage in the play-offs

"But we showed against Bradford last weekend that we are a tight unit.

"There are going to be times when things don't go right, but everyone is behind Daryl (Powell) and the rest of the coaching staff.

"When we get two points on Friday, it will shut up those people who said we wouldn't make the play-offs."

Leeds have beaten the likes of Bradford and Wigan this season but are still not certain of a play-off spot because of their inconsistency.

That will change on Friday if they beat rivals London at Headingley.

As for Walker, he is looking to recapture the form that made him an instant hit following his move from NRL side Northern Eagles.

Sinfield is convinced the Australian's loss of form is only temporary and insists he will soon be firing on all cylinders again.

"Ben was left out of the side to face Bradford last week even though we were without several players because of injury," said Sinfield.

Ben Walker touches down for Leeds
Walker began the season with a flourish
"But people are putting two and two together and coming up with 50 where he is concerned.

"I certainly rate him. He is the most skilful player I've ever played with.

"He is very similar to Iestyn (Harris) but unfortunately for he hasn't being shown the kind of form when everyone was saying he was the best player in the competition.

"He is certainly disappointed with his game at the moment but he is working hard to put things right."

Sinfield says Walker has had a lot to contend with off the field.

"He has come from the other side of world and had a new baby boy. It's been a big change for him," said the Great Britain player.

"But hopefully he can get back on track. I'd certainly like to see him back in the side."
