| Tuesday, 5 November, 2002, 08:58 GMT GB trio rate each other ![]() Sinfield, Sculthorpe and Morley are ready for the Kiwis BBC Sport Online's three GB columnists give us the lowdown on each other as they prepare to take on New Zealand.
... on Kevin Sinfield He is a top bloke who has got a great future ahead of him. He is still only a young lad who has shown how important he is to Leeds and Great Britain. He can play in a number of positions, so his versatility makes him invaluable. ... on Adrian Morley
You could not meet a nicer bloke off the field and he is a great bloke to have in the camp. He is a top lad and a real laugh. His physical ability means he has got a big presence on the field, especially in defence. People can see that for themselves whenever he is action. With the year he has had in Australia, he will be full of confidence when he plays for Great Britain.
... on Paul Sculthorpe I played against Paul when I was younger and roomed with him in 1997 when the Australians were over here. He burst on the scene as a 16-year-old at Warrington and was soon knocking on the door of the first team. When he moved to St Helens it took him a while to settle in but look at him now. He just seems to get better and better. Against Australia in July, he was really the only Great Britain player who emerged with any credit. ... on Kevin Sinfield
I had the pleasure of playing with Kevin for four seasons when I was at Leeds and knew he would be a big hit. He has got a lot of skill and is also very versatile. He has had another great year for the Rhinos. He is a quiet lad, certainly not a beer-drinking thug like me. He is a top professional who will do a great job for Great Britain.
... on Paul Sculthorpe He is very fit, very skilful and very strong. He leads by example. Whether he plays at stand-off or loose forward does not really matter. He is equally at home with either the number six or thirteen on his back. He is certainly a massive asset to the squad. ... on Adrian Morley
When game time comes around, he will be ready to smash a few people. It really gives the side a big lift when you see one of your team-mates give the opposition a belting. He is an awesome player and we have really missed him the last few times Great Britain have played. It is great to have him back. |
