Everton Tigers head coach Tony Garbelotto believes his side must beat Newcastle Eagles to maintain their faltering BBL title challenge.

The two sides meet in the North East on Tuesday on the back of the Tigers' 90-79 defeat by the Eagles in Liverpool on Sunday.

"The equation is still the same, we have to win two out of three," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"We could win on Tuesday and then come back here and win at Greenbank."

Garbelotto is looking for a dramatic improvement in his sides performance when they face Newcastle for a second time in three days.

"We didn't perform to our best abilities and the bottom line is the players all have to look at each other individually and know that they have to play a better game.

"If we get a better game from players then we have a situation where we play at the level we want to play at," said Garbelotto.
