Andre Smith showed his class as the Tigers ran out comfortable winners |
Eveton Tigers continued their assault on the BBL Championship after they collected wins against the Sheffield Sharks and the Guilford Heat. The Blues ran out 80-69 victors over the Sharks on Friday and overcame the Heat 94-82 on Sunday. "Andre Smith was back to his immaculate best on Sunday," Tigers assistant coach Henry Mooney told BBC Radio Merseyside. "Marcus Bailey and Josh Gross had two really big games for us. So our American trio did really well." Mooney added: "They were also supported well by Richard Midgley, Chris Haslam and Tony Dorsey. So both games were really good all round team performances." | We worked very hard during the week to get back to the level that we were at Tigers assistant coach, Henry Mooney | But a slight concern for Mooney was the slow start the side has had in the two games and it is something they are trying to eradicate. Although, he did admit the side showed character following a defeat in their previous fixture. "We were coming off a loss at Milton Keynes last week, so it was good to get back to winning ways. "That's what we wanted and we worked very hard during the week to get back to the level that we were at."
