Andre Smith has had a big impact since joining the Tigers

Everton Tigers have collected the Molton coach of the month and player of the month awards for the second successive month.

Tony Garbeletto picks up the coach award, while Andre Smith is the player of the month after helping the Tigers lift their first trophy.

They beat the Plymouth Raiders 103-49 in the BBL Cup and won five out of their six fixtures during the month.

Smith averaged 25.67 points and 12 rebounds per game.

Everton coach Garbelotto was delighted to accept the award but he insisted it was something that the whole team should be proud of.

"I keep saying it's not an award for me personally," said Garbelotto.

"It's about what the team does, and the group of people around me.

"I am honoured that we won our first trophy in January, but we're looking to move the ship forward and we're aiming to get better each month," he added.

He finished with 26 points and ten boards as the Tigers had the biggest margin of victory in the history of BBL finals.

"The fact remains he plays harder than the vast majority of players in the BBL," said Garbelotto.

"I know I probably sound like a broken record, but his attitude towards the game is exemplary and he's a model professional at this level.

"I'm proud for him, and proud that we've got him at our club."
