Morley signed a new contract with the Wolves in Ocotber |
Warrington forward Adrian Morley believes that the elite players in the Super League play too many games. The addition of the Celtic Crusaders and Salford City Reds means that teams in the Super League face four additional fixtures this season. "To play 30 games domestically is too many," he told BBC Radio Merseyside. "Then you're asked to go and play internationally and play at your peak. I don't think the Kiwis and the Australians play as many games." Morley added: "I think it's too much. I just think we're on the back foot straight away when we go up against these teams." "Last year was the most games I've ever played in a season. "I didn't miss a game through suspension or injury with Warrington and I did feel a bit tired." Morley believes a small reduction in the amount of games played could be a huge benefit to the top players. "We're not asking to do away with the Challenge Cup or anything like that," said Morley. "But I'm sure there are a lot of other measures we could take to ease the workload on the elite players."
