Greenacre hit by new injury blow

Chris Greenacre
Greenacre's last game for Tranmere was against Brighton in December

Tranmere striker Chris Greenacre could be out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury.

The 31-year-old suffered medial ligament damage while playing in Rovers keeper John Achterberg's testimonial against Everton on Monday.

He was using the game as a comeback match, as he recovers from a foot injury he picked up in December.

He should find out the extent of the injury this week but is expected to be out for between two and six weeks.

The former Stoke frontman has scored twice in 20 appearances this season.
