Sunday 9 July, 181km, Saint-Meen-le-Grand to Lorient
Stage eight profile
Few places say cycling quite like Saint-Meen-le-Grand, home of Louison and Jean Bobet. Louison sealed a hat-trick of Tour wins in the 1950s and there is a museum to the two Bobets in the town of 4,000 residents.
Your Tour experiences:
I'm British and living in Mexico. I was in Paris for the finish of the 98 tour. What a day; eventhough it rained. The mixture of different nations, the atmosphere; fantastic. Football fans take note!!! I am interested in the way Bradley Wiggins is doing as I had the good fortune to meet him at the Velodome in Manchester, where I worked on race days as a steward. Viva la tour de france!!!!
Andrew, Mexico
We have a house on the route at Guemene sur Scorff. Our friends are there now and have promised to make a banner. Really sorry to be missing the spectacle.

My grandparents own a house in a hamlet called La Bechaie in Brittany, near Loudeac, and the Tour passes straight past their front door. They are ou there so they are going to watch them go pass. So not only is there the beautiful countryside for them to look at but also the Tour.

We have a house at Kerchopine, Brittany, and stage eight goes right past our door. We have booked a ferry just to be there that weekend. Can't wait!

I spent the summer in Mur de Bretagne (stage eight) and cannot wait for the Tour de France to return and go right past the cottage. It was fantastic a few years ago, lots to see as well as the bikes. Excellent!!
