Tuesday 4 July, 216.5km, Esch-sur-Alzette to Valkenburg
Stage three profile
The stage finish on day four of the race is a hub of cycling. It has hosted the World Championships four times, most recently in 1998 when Oscar Camenzind outwitted the likes of Lance Armstrong before the Texan had even dreamed of Tour glory.
Your Tour experiences:
Stage 3 was pretty lively. Vindication for Kessler, more urgatory for O'Grady, and an early exit for Decker and Alejandro (sp?). The latter was my pick for KOM. 99 degree pavement temps?? Phew, and I thought it was hot around here!

I used to live near Valkenburg in the Netherlands and witnessed a Tour finish there. There is no spectacle quite like it. We were lucky to get close and see the likes of Stephen Roche racing past. I'll never forget that day.
