แต่ละคนขอนั่ง ‘sit’ ตรงนี้ค่ะ แซม เรามาอธิบายภาษาที่ใช้ในการขอกันเลยค่ะ

Yes! The first speaker used the verb ‘can’. This is very common for making requests.

Clare
ค่ะ และอย่าลืมว่าในกรณีนี้เป็นประโยคคำถาม ดังนั้นก็ต้องสลับที่ประธานกับกริยาด้วยนะคะ So ‘Can I…?’ not 'I can…'. Like this:

So you can use this to make many different requests. Like this:

แปลว่า ฉันขอคุยกับคุณได้ไหม?
ดังนั้น ในประโยคนี้ หลัง ‘Can I...’ เราแค่เติมคำกริยาช่องหนึ่งค่ะ

It's often polite to say 'please' too. Now, let’s quickly practise the pronunciation together! Repeat after me:
‘can’
‘Can I…’
‘Can I sit here, please?’

OK, great! So now let's look at another way to make a request – we also heard 'Could I…?' We can use this in the same way as 'Can I…?' but 'could' is more polite than 'can'.

ให้สมมุติว่า ลืมปากกาและอยากขอยืมปากกาของเพื่อนค่ะ จะถามว่าอย่างไรคะ คำว่า ‘ขอยืม’ ในภาษาอังกฤษคือ ‘borrow’ นะคะ และในกรณีนี้ ให้ฝึกถามเพื่อน ดังนั้นไม่ต้องเป็นทางการมากนะคะ
