ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਐਪੀਸੋਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂਗੇ ਦੋ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਏ। ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਏ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਬਸ ਇੰਨਾਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਕਿ  ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ?

1. I think Japanese food is the nicest food in the world. It's definitely the tastiest.

2. Mexican food is the most delicious, in my opinion.

3. Of all the food in the world, Italian is the best! And English is the worst.

Ah, I'm hungry now! ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

Yes, they talked about Japanese, Mexican, Italian and English food. So they were taking one type of food and comparing it to many others.

ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਪਾਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ 'nice' 'ਚੰਗਾ', 'tasty' 'ਸੁਆਦ', 'delicious' 'ਸੁਆਦੀ', 'good' 'ਵਧੀਆ' ਅਤੇ 'bad' 'ਮਾੜਾ' – ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਬਦਲ ਵੀ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਠੀਕ, ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਵਰਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਿਵੇਂ 'nice' ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਵਰਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਿਵੇਂ 'tasty' ਨਾਲ '-est' ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 'the' ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ 'e' ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ 'nice' ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਦੋ ਅੱਖਰ 's ਤੇ t' ਜੋੜਾਂਗੇ।

And in the case of 'tasty', the 'y' at the end changes to an 'I' in 'the tastiest'. This doesn't change the pronunciation, it's just when you’re writing.

ਜੇਕਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਲੰਬਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ 'delicious' ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਲੰਬਾ? Listen again:

Mexican food is the most delicious, in my opinion.

In this case, we don't change the adjective – 'delicious' stays 'delicious'.

ਬਲਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਾਂ: 'the most'.

Yes, so ‘interesting' becomes 'the most interesting', 'exciting' becomes 'the most exciting', etcetera. Shall we practise the pronunciation? Repeat after me, please:

the most delicious

It’s the most delicious food in the world.

And we just have two more to look at quickly!

Italian is the best! And English is the worst.

ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਨਿਯਮ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ‘good' ਅਤੇ 'bad' ਲਈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ '-est' ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਬਲਕਿ ਇਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਹੁਣ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟਿਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਹਿ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸਸਤਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕੱਲਿਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ' – 'alone with a book' – 'ਕਲਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ' – 'in class' – ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ 'online' . ਇਥੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ 'cheap' ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
