Insomnia – yep, got it, don’t know what to do about it. Between 3 and 4 is my time, which usually drags on until around 5 or 5.30, when I fall into the deepest most wonderful sleep, only to be woken an hour later by the alarm. Or the planes thundering into Heathrow.

#58 It's not just noisy eating in the cinema that irritates, it's also the smelliness of some stuff.



At the Bond movie there was someone who carried in a tray of a load of open stuff that included some real foul smelling snacks and dips and sat down next to me. I really wanted to send the whole tray flying back in the direction whence it came.



I enjoyed the big screen part of the experience, having not been since King Kong came out. But generally I find the overall experience of watching on my TV through my surround system to be preferable to having to listen to, smell and see out of the corner of my eye other people eating in the cinema.



Grumpy? Moi? :-)

The sound was so loud when we went to see Skyfall, anyone could have made any noise, I wouldn't have heard a thing.



My whinge would be 'how many adverts?'

#69 Ken - I agree with you over noisy/smelly snacks, some people seem to be expecting a siege situation to occur with all the snacks and drinks that they bring in for a 2 and a bit hour long film!



I'd like going to the cinema a whole lot more if I could just have it to myself, without the annoying seat-kickers, the talkers, the phone-fiddlers, the weak bladders etc etc

#70 Sal - I'm with you on the adverts, it's got ridiculous, we must have sat through 20-25 minutes of them before Skyfall even started. In fact the ads and coming attractions went on for so long, there was an audible cheer and sigh of relief when the film did actually start!

#69 Ken, I've heard Amanda Holden say sh gets really annoyed with people in the cinema or theatre who eat noisy food and rustle sweet wrappers near her and she will turn round and tell them to shut up as they're in the cinema or theatre and not in their front room at home! Janice Long said she's often turned to noisy people and told them to shut up as she's trying to watch the film or listen to the person/s on stage!

Just finished a tour of Television Centre, fairly interesting although looking a bit neglected & deserted in parts.



Guess who walked passed me in reception as I was waiting for the tour to start? Yes, our very own Lord Ammo! I resisted the urge to run after him and declare myself to be one of his bloggers.

Noise in the cinema - well I like some popcorn I have to admit, but if I have anything noisy, I have the decency to wait until there's a loud bit - as Sal pointed out, there's plenty of them. It's the people who seem to wait for the quietest bit to make the most noise that irritate me the most!

#77 Lilac Blue - it wasn't that I was shy, Simon had passed me and was out the door like a man on a mission before I properly realised it was him. He was the last person I expected to see there today. I think it is only usually on a Friday he does a show from there. I will happily chat with him given half a chance tomorrow!

Apologies for absence - both the Mr and I had hospital appointments today; him at 10.00am and me at 3.00pm :0( but on the way back from his app. I was phoned to say that my app was cancelled so we went out for a long lunch instead :0)



I feel sorry for anyone who suffers from insomnia - I have no trouble at all with sleeping - quite the reverse if anything. Getting up before 8.30 is an effort even after sleeping from 11.30pm or so. As much as Billie loves a Sunday, I love my bed!

#82 - Thanks Autumn Gale. I had a minor op a couple of months back to investigate a 99.9% probably benign cyst and today was to decide what to do about it, I think. As an optomist, I'm assuming that if there was anything to worry about, action would have been taken by now. A new app should not be too long hopefully!
