#55 Simon often tweets the theme before the new blog arrives and I usually tweet back a few suggestions if I think of them there and then, mainly because once I'm in the office and working I don't know how soon I'll get the chance to blog my choices. The only reason I repeat on here what I've tweeted is because I feel more loyalty to the blog that to Tweetsville, and if I do get a mensh I want it to be chalked up as a point to the blog! Does that make sense?



The only time I've used FB, as far as I can remember, is for suggesting the ARFO when Liza or Patrick have been sitting in. I'm not that desperate for a mensh that I would habitually use all three...

When it's both I always blog what it is that I've tweeted so that the lovely people who sift through the suggestions can double check that I don't get a mensh under two different guises - I wouldn't want to get a double mensh and deprive a fellow blogger!



That said, I don't think I've ever had a mensh from a tweet, whether or not it's been accompanied by a blog post.

Nice to be back in time for Drivetime - quiet afternoon on the blog - guess everyone's busy ..



.. was having a think - Malaysian street food? Surely the point of street food is *that* is what it is - cooked and served in the street and streetmarkets. A handy catering kitchen and warm studio and plates and cutlery is hardly comparable.



Unless that part of the show will be taking place on the pavement of Portland Place. Now that would be worth a pic.

I'm back too, Katy having been out most of the afternoon and I've seen a lot of the Eider ducks that Sal likes but has never seen. Also as the tide was right in there were quite a few diving Gannets near the rocks and they look spectacular plunge-diving into the water at 90mph, looking for sand eels for their partner who will be looking after their eggs at home.

Bob Harris has tweeted that today marks what would have been Alexis Korner's birthday. I wish I'd realised this sooner, as I would have suggested 'How Long, How Long Blues' by the great man to tie in with todays theme. I've tweeted it anyway, but I don't hold out much hope, as it was so late in the day.



I saw AK just before he died in a 'double header' with, if I remember correctly, Colin Hodgkinson, at The Derby Playhouse. Awesome.

#68 can confirm that being on holimidays at home, am dipping in and out of FB during the day more than usual - so today for change have logged suggestions to all 3 social networking sites. Makes no odds tho, as I am a mensh-free zone, regular OSM bench dweller anyway, so just nice to stick something up if I have the time.

The BLOG is of course, the best of all the opportunities, as there is musical knowledge and likes/dislikes to share, on FB only happens if you 'befriend' someone.



Busy day here, manged to get out of the house finally (caught in a hail storm, whilst driving over a high flyover - scary!!) to buy a lightbulb. That was the highlight.

I had mentioned earlier on the blog how the Gannets were diving in the deep water close to the rocks when the tide was right in this afternoon and I had never heard the word Gannets on DT before and I was surprised to hear my 3-worder! Another three worder (too sad though) could have been 'Found Dead Gannet' as we came across a dead one on the beach and they look very big close-up as they have a six-foot wingspan!

Re the Open University - I've got a BSc (Hons) in psychology which I obtained through the OU. It took me 5 years (would have been 6 but I already had a qualification that counted towards it) during which time I was also working part time and looking after two children under 10. Extremely hard work, but very rewarding. I would have gone on and done more if I could - may still do one of these days. I'd love to do a PhD.



Just been watching the Louis Theroux programme on autism. Very interesting, and very sensitively handled I thought.

Sshhh! Everyone's asleep and I'm grabbing a chance to come on blog and say thanks Flo for posting my dreadful offerings on #10. First 3 songs that came into me old 'ed before heading out into the field to weed out tumshies (turnips for my more learned friends).



I don't use face cloth for anything more than a quick comment if I see a post other than my beloved scrabble. If I ever tweet a song choice, me battery goes down so quickly on me phone, it ain't worth it.

A day off but the old body clock still kicks into action and another chance to come and say hello while the rest of the house is in slumber - apart from Jocko. The dawn chorus sets him off every morning.

Hello. Hope everyone is OK (esp Shona - take care of yourself now).



Can't blog later on the new blog but if anyone is reading this, just wanted to say that I hope that Deebee has a truly wonderful holiday.



If the ARFO choice was mine, I would go for DEATH TO MY HOMETOWN - Bruce Springsteen. This would be for my husband and three boys who have been just fantastic this week. Tough week.

#88 Yes, a mensh finally after some months - but note it was on this here blog, not from twooter or facecloth sites! I had to shuffle off the OSM bench smartish, nearly spilled my wine!!



Have nice hols Deebee, still on them myself (@home hols) and thinking of somewhere in range to go today (with child #3), not too far, not too many ££, needs some planning...
