On the subject of Advent, can I recommend an excellent book. It's 'The Christmas Mystery' by Jostein Gaarder (who wrote the equally excellent 'Sophie's World'). It's really a children's book but it's worth reading as an adult - as the title suggests, it brings back a sense of the magic and mystery of Christmas.

M-in-law booked into hospital this AM - before sunrise, frost still on car - and ONLY JUST gone into surgery. Pre-ops tests taken weeks ago were to no avail, as they lost her bloods..more taken, more testing - no wonder NHS is broke!

#89 Yes Deebee. I usually use Delia's recipe but thought would try something different this year and having watched The Great British Bake Off it seemed like a good scheme. Very easy to make - seems like a lot of fruit but looked ok when it went in the oven. We'll see...................

#91 The Leveson inquiry has been very revealing, and while I'm not entirely shocked by any of the revelations, that in itself is quite shocking, as our newspapers seem to have been in the gutter for such a long time. I wouldn't soil my hands with any of them.



I've been napping, and then watching The Walking Dead, which has upset me greatly (the latter, not the former, the nap was nice!) I need Simon to cheer me up, which I'm sure he will.
