By the way, I was cooking dinner last night using some mince, and it looked really fresh and juicy and raw, and I thought about steak tartare and how tempting it would be, so I did a little impromptu tartarisation (without the younger BGs watching, as it felt really bad, all those times we tell them not to eat this or that!) - a little pile of mince, some chopped onion, a splash of Lea&Perrins and some salt and pepper. Tasted fantastic, yes, really, who knew. (And still fighting fit this morning!) So will be listening for the proper version tonight a la Nige.

It isn't necessarily a case of switching allegiance. I regard myself as Welsh within British, and if Wales were out of it, but any other of the home nations were still in, then I would be wanting them to win.



Even if it were England :)



Obviously, if it is a choice between Wales and another British team, I want Wales to win.

#79 Wouldn't surprise me MTF. He plays a wide range of songs. The show used to be on Thursday nights and it was a good feeling to know the next day was Friday. Now it's on Tuesday nights and leaves me feeling a bit disappointed knowing it's not Friday the next day. :(

HEROES by David Bowie..........especially as he was really a 'Jones' so a Welsh name to boot!!??

Not quite sure what steak tartare is, so I will listen with extra care this evening. On Tuesday I went for a meal to celebrate my Birthday and had steak diane for the first time, and that was lovely!

My Mum, and most of my surviving relatives are Welsh, which makes a large chunk of me Welsh too (I won't say which chunk he he he), so I will be cheering the team on to victory this Saturday :o).

#80 Sorry, Alex, I respect your position on this but now England are out, it's just another game. I don't care who wins as long it's entertaining.



Having said that, I don't really consider myself to be "English"; I'm not even sure what that means. If anyone were to ask me where I'm from, I would always answer "The Midlands", quickly clarifying that I'm not a Brummie! It's absurd, and I can't really explain why, but coming from the Black Country is something I am very proud of. After that, I think of myself as British.



I don't care hoot for the England football team but I'm a life-long Wolves supporter. I support England and Leicester at rugby; England and Warwickshire at cricket. Most other sports I can take or leave although I have been known to get quite passionate about women's volleyball :-)
